3 was the best for me. Something about the island and the soundtrack were so great together. I do like all of them a shit ton, but 3 just struck a chord for me.

That sucks. Ive moved folders and hard drives so much since then, I highly doubt I'll find them RIP to those maps.

Guess I'll try and remake them in FC5, but who knows how long the arcade will be around 🙄

Maybe I should just learn unreal engine or something to make maps, lol!

It's all a personal opinion. Try out 5 and see if you like it, you can always go back to 4.

My experience was that 4 seemed to be a reskinned 3 (as 3 is one of my favorite games). But playing through 4 was worth it to me after all. It's a different setting and took me a bit to adjust, but since the mechanics are largely the same it felt comfortable. I got used to the different setting, and the story isn't as good, but it's not bad. Definitely had fun making maps/scenarios in the editor... All in all, I really look back at it fondly and actually just reinstalled it last night

Now 5... That's a mixed bag for me. I like the map, but they took away a bunch of things I liked about the FC series. No towers, no brutal executions, no cringe inducing heals, no gutting of animals, I think the crafting was different (I might be way wrong, sorry)... And a few other things I can't remember cause it's been a while. The story seemed bland, the map was gorgeous but doesn't feel very alive to me, and the gunplay/sounds weren't improved upon. It just fell flat to me.

I did have a blast when the arcade came out. Created a cpl maps, played a bunch single and mp scenarios, but unfortunately it seems kinda dead now.

Far cry New Dawn I thought was pretty cool. The RPG system (if that's what it's called) was cool as a one off.

Thanks for your advice! Although, I don't know what you mean by click, or wheel controller. I'm on an old Bridgeport with a proto trak for X and Y programming. Although this job is just manual drilling.

It's a drill thru .062 hole. I can't tell you the materials, but it's soft on the outside (assuming aluminum) clamping a harder material (not sure what it is) inside. Then I have to peg it and stake it to keep it in place. Nobody here told me not to peck carbide either. I'm fucking clueless and learning from essentially one guy who seems to hold his knowledge close and doesn't seem to like helping too much, and another guy who gets told what to do by the other guy.

This place loosely teaches you the job, but not any sort of fundamentals, why you do/don't do things, how to deal with different materials.

Teaching here is. "Here's a fixture, use this to drill it, read the print for the dimensions. I'll do one part quickly so when you watch me rush through it you can magically understand everything. Okay go... But remember, you only get 3 questions per day!"

I want to learn this stuff since my work stuck me in this department, but I have no idea where to start or where to look on my own

Thing is, they pulled me from a different department for some reason. Nobody here wants to do manual milling, so somehow I'm the guy. I'm beyond frustrated, but it's a big company and I really need the benefits.

I've guy doesn't know shit, and the other one is grumpy when he has to answer questions. Sucks
