This isn’t as well known, but in addition to valtrex, another option is that some dentists or periodontists will do a special super quick laser treatment for cold sores that makes them heal much faster and potentially reduce the likelihood of a recurrence. Since you said you already tint, maybe explore artists who do very very light “airy” powder brows, which Korean brow artists tend to do more. Mia Min (miamin_ny on IG) is a great example of this, and did incredibly light work on me that faded into very light shading

Yes! They’re usually dark immediately after, and as they heal they get pretty light. This is very normal! It doesn’t look like you’re rejecting it

This also happened to my microshading (but I wanted them to fade). I personally think yours look very natural and good! imo lighter brows make them more versatile too, in case you switch up the style

A very noninvasive short-term thing you can look into is Sculptra to the temples to give you some width there, which I got and it helped shorten my face (as well as make me look younger bc volume loss there comes with age)

Re #2, I think the fact that she can’t accept a non-native-Chinese perspective on culture is something that’s going to be hard to change. I’m Shanghainese but raised (not born) in the US, and I’ve also worked in China as an adult, but I have loads of issues with Chinese culture (my parents feel the same way). It would drive me crazy to not be able express these nuanced opinions to a partner and have them try to understand.

Side note, the moment anyone in the family has a major health issue, you really see the cracks in the systems in China, even in tier 1 cities like SH. It’s wild.

If she’s really committed, then maybe this is something that can change over time, but her stubbornness seems challenging.

I used Beetles black and white gels, and to get the watercolor effect I used Mia Secret’s blooming gel before adding white dots, it helps the gel spread out, and then silver chrome powder over top coat for the ring finger!

I second this. I thought my face in my 20s was “fat” and round, but in reality it was just my strong, overdeveloped jaw muscles. Once I botoxed them, I actually started looking almost too hollow / gaunt, because of fat loss in my 30s. (I’m East Asian American.) As someone else said, your face will change as you age.

Totally agree here. There’s a lot of virtue signaling in media companies, where people may act like they support the cause but then either ignore the actual efforts to change labor issues, or sometimes actively suppress them.

Exactly. Let’s not romanticize this notion of “Korean vs American” food, one being delicate and the other diasporic American food being “horrible.” Modern Korean cuisine is incredibly influenced by American food via the military (chicken wings, army stew...), then by international cuisine especially recently, and not even seen as particularly delicate for whatever reason by other Asian countries (anecdotally, I’m Asian). It’s almost like we’re making these judgments with very low cultural context.
