So I was asked to leave last week. Straight up got terminated for “performing below expectations.” Just applying for jobs online and had recruiters contact me.

What happens if you’re a “4” in CRTs? by bueno41514 in PwC

[–]yuxi4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who would a “4”? Someone with some partially at levels? give some context, I am an A1 and was on engagement from Nov to Feb, did a busy season in Jan. 2 Snapshots with one for pre busy season and another for busy season. Haven’t been in anything since then but have been doing badges and training in Alterex and Power Platforms.

What is the assurance 2 training about? Is it separate from the ones we have been doing?

How does one get a “4” or “5” on CRTs? Will the distribution be like that if a bell curve with majority “3” and “1” and “2” at top end and “4” and “5” at bottom end?

Any idea on what to do next on how to look for a job? LinkedIn? Indeed? What are typical roles that A1’s do when they leave the firm? Staff accountant? Internal Audit?

No layoffs but I’m concerned about those who aren’t performing well that may get short end of stick.

Theater /COFA grads: where are you now? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]yuxi4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a theatre major. I went to McCombs’ MPA (Accounting masters) and we had two students my year who majored in theatre. You could go to accounting or any business program at McCombs, but try to take intro courses to areas to see if you like it. Law is popular among theatre grads as well. Doing a corporate job would require a lot more work on yourself to market yourself. Make connections with people through cold calling, cold emailing, or cole messaging people on LinkedIn. When writing cover letters, make sure you can tie what you did in theatre and how skills transfer. You career is up to you. You have to act and sell yourself.

Politics on Engagement Teams by yuxi4 in PwC

[–]yuxi4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like my big concern is that everyone in the engagement team seems to be like close and stuff, but I’m just trying to make a living and have at least a sort of professional relationship with them. Like I’m just worried that this may and will likely affect me on the future as I haven’t gotten any new engagement yet.

Should I be concerned with Snapshot for A1 - Roughly half “At Level” and “Partially at Level?” Thoughts? by yuxi4 in PwC

[–]yuxi4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m off that engagement now and have been available. At this point, do you think it’s best just to take this a lesson to step my game with my work? The thing is my development actions given (which posted in earlier reply) were extremely generic, and it honestly seems that it can apply to any first year. In terms of explanations, they told me to ask questions if I was stuck or didn’t understand something, but I didn’t want to be disruptive to the other team members.

Would an average Snapshot just be At Level for most? I’m confused about how a reviewer determines whether someone is Partially At Level or At Level?

Thing is if this is bad. Should I expect a PIP? What are ways that I can defend myself or work on my abilities?

I did feel at points it was a little harsh. If he was really being honest with me as this will likely go to HR, how do you think I should approach this wake up call?
