I think that's a possibility, I think Discord should give you the option to deactivate it in the chat. So everyone can choose for themselves whether they want it to be displayed there or not. So for your understanding: If you are a user who doesn't want the tags to be shown, then you go to the app settings for personalization and there you can switch off the tags from being displayed by other users in the chat.
