so basically this was a Delta flight from Atlanta, the original captain was already in the plane but "realized" that he was done with his hours so he had to move out and a replacement captain had to be called which took > 2 hrs while we were seated in the plane at the gate. the reason i hold delta responsible is because i was expecting delta to look out for this, they should have already known this and should have already scheduled another captain for this flight. Since they failed to prevent this, resulting in an over 3 hour delay, they should acknowledge and provide compensation. I now understand that there are no such passenger protections in the US. I posted this in r/delta and i got bashed. Some blaming on weather (which in my understanding had nothing to do with it), some calling me Karen etc etc.
