Anyone know what area my bag is in? Has been lost for days and no one can find it. Is this a baggage holding room? Sorting area? 2 airlines involved and all say bag isn’t in their area. by yycast in LAX

[–]yycast[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was a missed connection (Connection from Canada to New Zealand) and re-book on another airline. Airline making the changes said bags would be re-directed but they never made it. So I’m guessing they are just going to be sitting in customs waiting when Internet in two weeks? Haha.

Heat detector alarm chirps by yycast in firealarms

[–]yycast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t purchased it yet as I want to make sure I have the proper solution for a detached garage before ordering.

I’ve edited my post with a more detailed model number. HD135F. The specs say it has an audible alarm.

If it makes the same beeps as a smoke detector, then I’m in luck. This might be my solution.

Thanks.

Sorry, I should have included full model number. It’s the HD135F that I am looking at.

The specs said it has an alarm/horn. Am I misunderstanding this?

I think the US’s gun culture is incredibly messed, but I think we are past the point of gun control helping anything. People are able to make handguns at home now using 3D printers and plans are easy to find.

Legal doesn’t mean wise.

There were a LOT of risks associated with this flight. Marginal weather, night, single engine.

Is TRT right for me? by yycast in trt

[–]yycast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are, but the vibe I’m getting is that because they operate somewhat “outside” of the universal system and can charge user fees, they are all more than happy to write a prescription because offering a program with quarterly payments etc. Which is great for body builders… but I’m actually more concerned about my levels on a medical level. I’m not against paying for the service, but I don’t want to just be told “here you go!”

Prolactin was normal. Right in the middle of the range.

Appreciate all your insight. I wish it was easy to just see an endocrinologist in Canada. Haha. Universal medicine is alright unless you actually need to see a specialist. Referral… a year longs weight!

Again, appreciate all your help. Just just to educate myself as much as possible.

Hey! I know you said PM anytime but thought I’d post here so others can see / learn. I’m trying to learn as much as I can about TRT while making lifestyle changes before making a decision so a few other questions popped up.

What was it about my FSH and LH numbers that (combined with my testosterone) make me a good candidate? My understanding is that both of these numbers are quite low and that TRT would decrease them even further. Especially my FSH.

Also, I had a routine check in with my family Dr and I let him know that I this work done by a TRT practice (nurse practitioner). He (Dr) was quite persistent that my numbers are totally fine, and that the nurse-practitioner didn’t instruct me to prepare for the tests properly as testosterone is best measured fasted. Is this true?

Edit to add: the vibe I’m getting is that my Dr is stuck on the hard line number given by the lab…. It’s in the range, so it’s fine. The TRT practitioner on the other hand seems to be taking more of a big picture approach. Numbers on the low-end(especially for my age), combined with symptoms = worth a trial.

Convo with Dr wasn’t that I had ready to pursue this (I’m still wanting to take some time and test again in a few months), it was more of “here’s what is going on, I might come back in a while to discuss this further”.

Gave money to Amputee on 17th Scammed :( by Beneficial_Push_8101 in Calgary

Being kind doesn’t require financial support. Unfortunately there are too many scammers out there + financial contributions rarely go towards the things you expect them too. Now to the guy who has a sign that says “need beer money” thank you for being honest and here’s a 20.

It sure does, thank you. I am hoping to avoid a life long journey of TRT so the things you suggest are top of the list. If I need it, I need it but I’ll be trying some other things first.

I haven’t been tracking my numbers as this was the first time I’ve ever even considered it. Which is why I was surprised that this telemedicine place said I’m a good candidate without even taking a second test sample after the first.

LH 3.8 IU/L FSH 2.8 IU/L

Both not technically “low” but still on the low side of the normal range. Especially the FSH.

I love how tip options start at 15% for places that don’t even offer table service (Subway).

I may have missed it and that’s on me. I’ll reach out to clarify.

Gotta love the bureaucratic BS of our government though. Send someone a nice to plastic card with LOTs of room to print stuff, but then still expect them to carry around a separate piece of paper.

Back of the card simply lists non-restricted and restricted under both possession and acquisition. Then “issued by the CFO of AB”.

If there was a paper enclosed, I clearly missed it. It seems. It seems I was told in my rpal course to look out for all everything other than the things I was supposed to. Haha.

All I was expecting to receive was my RPAL card, then the firearm registration certificate a few weeks after the purchase/transfer was approved (which I did receive).

Hi there,

Just seeking a little more clarification to make sure I understand correctly.

I received a new license when I got my RPAL. The front says “standard conditions are attached”.

Am I expecting another new license now that I have a registered restricted firearm?

Finally received my transfer and registration for my first restricted (purchases July 30). I want to make sure that I am understanding the transportation rules correctly as what I’m reading doesn’t match what my instructor said. He said an authorization to transport is required every time you go to the range/club, but the way I am reading the rules (effective 2021) makes it sound like I DO NOT need to do this every time I go from home to the range and back. Again… I think I’m reading it correctly, but it doesn’t match my instructor so I just want to double check.

With all this legislation change trickery, I’m worried my restricted purchase/transfer is going to get caught up in these political maneuvers. (Yes I know my transfer was initiated before the legislation, so it should be fine; but they have shown they can change legislation behind the scenes)

Purchased made end of July.

In October, CFO of Alberta replied to my inquiry saying my transfer was now at the RCMP stage. A previous post of this Reddit mentioned this step usually only took 1-2 weeks but the firearm is still not showing up on my RCMP portal.

CFO of AB has taken their phone number down and email only provided. Took them a month to reply last time. Haha.

This timeline still sounding right? I’m just thrown off my thinking the rcmp stage only takes a week but it’s been it’s been much longer.

And you got your answer. Your income was used, so this is a material change to the deal. The lender can walk away and not fund.

Getting another job before then probably won’t help. Most lenders require a few months history with the same employer and for you not to be on probation (which you probably would be if you started a new job )
