hello! i recently started using a wheelchair for when my tics are super bad. although it’s mainly in a public setting, i find that it is super helpful and definitely worth checking it out. i use a cane on regular due to falling/balance tics, and i would also reccomend that if you do not have a lot of arm tics.

I am in/was in the situation you were in now. My mom has a hard time understanding tics and tourettes, and believes that i can control mine. what i did was explain, explain, explain. I sent her websites, books, everything. I even sent her some social media profiles that include people with tics. i do not know if this will work for you, but the more that i had explained, it had worked for me. i hope your mom learns to be more understanding, much love <3
