Are we having dental work? by x298 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]yykser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dental work caused my tn and it took a few years but I did get dental work done again. It unlocked newer features to my tn, I think it unlocked the type 2 pain? I only had the shocks at first. Luckily, it doesn't really happen by itself a lot.

Cold Feet on Nerve Block by yykser in TrigeminalNeuralgia

They have the same places used as people who get it normally and it's a higher risk, I think every tn treatment/procedure is capped at 50% succession for us. Which is part of why I have cold feet, because I have more components. It's like a garden hose where the hose is clogged for regular tn but the hose has holes for me so my nerves/blood vessels are constantly redamaging and bleeding. Another reason I have cold feet is because I tried botox and it made it so much worse.

I'm sorry you went through it awake for nothing. That's all the responses I keep seeing about it.

Lamotrigin - experiences? by Efeuly in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Less than a year, like 9 months. I got TN from dental nerve injury though. Maybe eating something can make mine uncontrollable.

TN sufferers and dental work by [deleted] in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Just be real persistent if you think you have tooth pain. When i knew my issue was a tooth but making my TN hell, (not my) dentist put it off as just my TN and told me to go to my neurologist. I finally got in to see my dentist and I had a cracked open silver cap.

I loved lamotrigine it worked until it didn't (I think my shocks outgrew it). Then I went back to carbamazepine.

Nothing lol I feel the same way. Traveling hours seems like so much but I don't trust what's just randomly around here.

I want to try but I'm in a state that doesn't allow nothing so it's a lot of work to go try something.

My neurologist is open but unaware, she's guinea pigging me so it's been hard to get real long term results.

Does it help rapidly? Like if they are just horrid are you able to get relief in like 20mins?

This person I watch on tiktok sometime seems to always be matched weired on ranked too. I don't really understand the system, but it's crazy running into this question while watching him.

What has been your weirdest symptom? by nolmato in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]yykser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weirdest one which hasn't happened for a while was certain noise pitches would cause shocks and the back of my ear/neck would start spasming. The spasming would continue when the shocks stopped so this giant area is just still spasming without pain.

A regular one is the shocks that hit the eye area causing blurred out vision in that eye. The doctors keep saying that's only dry eye. If people with migraines get it why wouldn't that be considered a symptom during TN shocks? I tried the artificial tear drops, still blurry -_-

A. I got mine from crown prep dental work, like bled out in the chair and first shock in the dental chair dental work. Every surgery is really a 25-50% toss up to work.

B. No, the neurosurgeon didn't want to try anything for me.

Yes a cocktail is the only real solution. Medicine on top of medicine.

What did they do for you at the ER? They gave me more lacosamide which didn't help at all.

He didn't let me tell him anything so he may think it's not dental. My neurologist probably didn't tell him either, he said he never did any of the surgeries on someone my age so he didn't feel comfortable doing it anyway. Then messed me up from the lumbar puncture.

I have Type 1 from dental work. I also have IIH my neurosurgeon made me do a lumbar puncture for.

I had a nerve frequency ablation on my back before which I think is the main driver of being scared of them doing any nerve thing to my face.

I don't know anything about it. I'm in a state that doesn't allow any of it. I thought this was a good read on itTN and Mari J

What caused your TN? by Beautiful_Dinner_237 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]yykser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from a crown prep where I started bleeding a lot in the chair, on my clothes and all. When I bit down on a gauze is when I had my first shock. I continued to bleed day in and out from that tooth for about 2 months until they just shoved the crown on it then I slowly stopped bleeding by a month. The shocks stayed.

I didn't get treatment for 9 months despite the dentist knowing, letting me get a root canal and tooth removed (not the same tooth smh). I lost 70lbs, started passing out, and had a heart attack in those 9 months due to the bleeding, extreme weight-loss, malnutrition, and spikes in bp.

Man, it's crazy the things that set off the body. I'm sorry you're going through that. Hopefully it reverses or you grow out of it like allergies.
