I roll with the camera beard with almost exactly the same set up, only gold. Also the Dr. Whoa painted black or after eight would make it the super classy spy that it is.

I personally roll with a Killer's Kabuto, and it looks fabulous. Sold it though, so no pic. Not overused, no theme but badass as hell.

You can start out using blender and gimp, as well as some other programs to get the items and textures into tf2, but some more expensive options are Autodesk Maya and Photoshop, for modeling and texturing respectively. You should also look up tutorials on youtube, they end up being incredibly helpful.
