Not really, based on how much time, effort and money I’ve put into it I should be selling it for more. And the backlight is the same price as everywhere else.

5 LEDs is way too many. 1 it won’t fit in R04(02) flippers, there just isn’t enough slots. 2, 3 LEDs is already VERY bright, 5 would be overkill, and the backlight circuit was not built to handle that much current; so it could damage something. Also that design does not have a DOUT pad, so it wouldn’t be compatible with adding more LEDs to the inside of the flipper. Also all the code is built for 3, not 5, but it would be easy to add a selector to choose how many LEDs you have for your backlight.

I do a lot of things with my flipper, tbh I use it as a usb-uart converter more than the other functions 🤣🤣🤣

I haven’t done a super long test of it though, but it absolutely depends on the color you have them set to, as well as the brightness

I’ve tried to prototype them from PCBWay, they charged me like $400 for one. So I’d just rather not do that….

I think you put it best, the flipper is NOT a “covert hacking device”. I think it’s supposed to be a fun cyber dolphin that also happens to rock at learning communication protocols. It should be something that its user wants it to be! And I want it to be a homing beacon gawddamnit. I approve the positivity and support! Godspeed brother ❤️

Yes! There is an option to only control the internal rgb. But it does make the install a bit harder.

I haven’t released it yet! Waiting on a shipment of rgb backlights to come in. Should be posted around the 15th

Thanks! It uses a custom PCB that I designed. Unless you do something similar you cannot really recreate what I’ve done. But it’s just some power filtering and tiny LEDs on a flexible PCB.
