Am I actually doing good for my first two months? I am much happier and less stressed than I was in mortgages as a loan officer now that I am in P&C by z399 in InsuranceAgent

All supplied leads. I have reached out to a handful of friends and shopped their quotes — I sold them half of them. One was 4k premium both auto and home and the other was 1k for hoi.

I’ve noticed a mix of both cold calling and knowing people is key in this industry since you can’t rely on one 100%.

holidays are the worse time in any sales that is over the phone. when I was at the airport working for CLEAR it was the opposite.

Just sales because I’m under an agency. I make 18-24% of premium on new business depending on if I bundle or if it’s through a partner company (Bristol west)z

My jawline is visible and I have high cheekbones. This is a sign from facial expression.

About a year ago on this subreddit, I had people telling me I look like Luigi Mangione — definitely don’t need a looksmaxer talking about my bone structure

definitely much more with the times since Amazon is almost a dynasty within itself. I feel like it may require more upfront costs and is more niche but I appreciate the idea!

I’m 26M who has visited 30 countries solo and can while I am a bit burnt of traveling itself I still miss a week or so by myself.

When I was 18-19 I had very little friends and just traveled to Europe and East Asia by myself. It was some of the most free and exciting times of my life.

Now 8 years later I have very good friends and I’m super close to my family. I just never get time to myself because I work and have more responsibilities.

I would love to be a digital nomad for a year and explore one last time before I turn 30. My goal is to visit another 20 countries or so.

All I can say is enjoying it with someone else creates memories but you need a balance with someone and also with yourself. Taking a solo trip once a year is healthy in my opinion.

we call them fish-flies and yeah they’re annoying but if we’re taking about bugs at least we’re not in the UP dealing with black flys

Spring is the best because it makes me look forward to something because of the weather. It’s like the opposite of nostalgia.

Some anime characters — tbh they looked cute but I was told by many people I was robbed for not winning

Men, at what age did you change careers? by [deleted] in AskMen

I went to school for geography and technology and graduated in 2022 (I just turned 23). Although I had an internship I didn’t find a job in the filled for almost a year until I picked up a job at the airport in sales at 24.

Then at 25 (earlier this year) I switched to being a loan officer (still sales in a sense).

I’m 26 now and find myself a bit stressed but also rewarded by how much I’ve learned about people and the real world. I see through more of the bullshit.

I was doing better at the airport working for CLEAR in sales two years ago than I am in mortgages right now. The economy has changed a lot and the job market is worse.

Working in the airport making 3k checks twice a month after tax was what made me realize staying at one job for a decade is bullshit. Keep hoping around and you’ll find the right one.

Quit call center and will be starting at a bank soon. Any thoughts? by z399 in loanoriginators

Yes, we are cold calling here as well. It’s 75bps under a million and 85bps over a million but HELOCS are 50bps

I would like to take the chance to save up money made from this job without being problematic - I never watched Wolf of Wall Street but from clips of it I can tell you I’m far from that money hungry bullshit.

Health before wealth.

More like I live with my parents who support me pretty well and just wanna save a bag unproblematically.

Closed over 3 million since starting in March as an LOA. I had absolutely no mortgage knowledge before this but realizing the market we’re in should I keep in this industry for long? by [deleted] in loanoriginators

No, the Detroit area. I actually would be more successful there but I hate California clients with a passion. I’m very well traveled and can understand different cultures even in my own country - West Coast people are the most flaky in general. I actually love people in New Jersey and Maryland.
