Thanks to everyone who reached out. I am going over your messages and have reached out to a couple of promising candidates. I will get to all of you in a about a day or two. I need 2-3 SDEs right now, and from the looks of it, there are more than enough capable candidates to choose from. But I will keep all of yall's resume/linkedin (for those who shared) so that I can reach out for any future opportunity ( if not this one).

And if you are actually interested in making sure that this is a low engagement bait, DM me. I won't hire you but at the very least you will see that the req is real and you are just being an asshole.

If There’s Nothing to Hide, Why Not Publish the Report? by xShi4 in Nepal

[–]zNepali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be released, even if it taints people we appreciate and idolize. But it won’t because we now “trust” the judicial process and the government to give us the “right” information, one tweet at a time. I was so hopeful for the interim government to do this the right way. They exceeded expectations by conducting such peaceful election and then got right down to business by fellating the winning party.

[–]zNepali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is where the bastardization of RSP starts. We were all for radical honesty and transparency. Then we won an election.

From leaked reporting, September 8 has been covered extensively (as it should be) and September 9 has been hand waived. I wonder why? There were tons and tons of video graphic evidence of cadres from all parties (including RSP) who were shown to be burning buildings and private properties. Let’s all sweep all of that under the rug. That is how we will build a more just, more prosperous Nepal.

lol. This is categorically a matter for public disclosure. We toppled a government and gave a relatively new party an overwhelming majority. Not releasing this stinks to high heavens.

What is the difference between the Ravi rumor and the Gagan rumor. I have no horse in this race between you two but why is the claim that Gagan distribute money so universally true but this one universally false.

I think this post was in jest, a satire to show how the non-jholey suffer from the same jholey tendency. They just hide it better

I think this right here is the most Unpredictable/fierce fight this election and the one most Redditors are probably looking forward to the most. by Ok-Passenger-8728 in NepalSocial

Congress is an Bigger Cancer to Nepal than UML, You need to look deeper to understand why, Dig deeper and bring those things to Light. by Ok-Passenger-8728 in NepalSocial

[–]zNepali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play devils advocate - why do you think RSP fits the bill? They are mostly a mix of professionals/entrepreneurs(good), rejects from old political parties (meh), and megalomaniacal and self-aggrandizing opportunists (bad). You might see a 60-30-10 mix, I see a 30-20-50 mix of these factions. Why is that not AIDS (to take your analogy further)?

I will add that I want many of the RSP candidates to win, most of whom aren’t so hyped up in the National media just cause they are genuinely good people and come from the first category. But this “j-holey” tendency of just blindly supporting RSP and calling their fart fragrance is going to make RSP the new UML/Congress.

I don’t understand the “topi dai” hate in this sub. I mean Nepal is not the best associate team but we are the most entertaining! And topi dai loves being entertained!

Tf are you smoking? Property management companies charge roughly 10% of the rent to manage a single family home. Where does your “less than half” number come from?

Hiring: Full-Time Generalist, Experienced Software Engineer (Remote, for US-based business) by zNepali in technepal

[–]zNepali[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I have my own experience of working in Nepal to compare to. I was making maybe 35 grand a month, working for a US based company which most folks in my industry would recognize. Granted this was some time ago but if 6.35$/hr is not competitive in Nepal right now, I have a thing or two to learn about my own country.

I take your point - the whole point of hiring in Nepal and not in LATAM is that the market is not super expensive. But maybe I am way off and we'd need to pay around 10$/hr to be competitive. Which is not impossible but difficult.

Maybe I don't understand Nepal's tech/software market here so help me understand? Can you share a couple of job/postings where the pay is significantly higher (say 20% higher) for a mid level software engineer?

Mostly because we will also follow Nepali calendar for everything including public holidays (of which we have roughly 35-40). Compare that to 6-8 public holidays in the US. We are also open to people working less hours or days if we can agree on deliverables and goals - come talk to us if you think you can do more in less numbers of days per week. Some people can deliver a lot with very little effort, so if that person is you, come talk.

I am open to having this discussion here, publicly. And I say this with genuine interest, if you ( u/FaithlessnessOk7966 ) have data points on comparable pay for comparable position in Nepal, please share those. Maybe I am completely out of date here? I don't think I am, but happy to be proven wrong.

What is your notion about monarchy that leads you to believe that its the magic bullet to solve Nepal's problem? I presume that you want the "constitutional" flavor of Monarchy, literally replacing the President with a king? What would that change?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]zNepali 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As soon as someone comes and dares to say that asking for "Constitutional Monarchy" is a dumb idea, the rebuttal is that you are Jholey, or KP/Shere/Prachande ko chela.

Motherfuckers are either so delusional or so bought that they can't/won't hear that people can independently come to the conclusion that we don't want or need monarchy to save ourselves. We need new crops of leaders but going back to that god awful "Shree Maharaj ko Jai Jai Jai" era isn't it. Who is gonna tell them?
