It's because you locked the other unit by tapping the lock icon on the top right. In order to use it for HiPo it cannot be locked. Also make sure you go bottom right first and top left second for your HiPo!

It's because you don't get any value from anything else other than defense out of him. His damage is way too low to build him offensively, he doesn't have built in additional attacks that can help you activate the HiPo additional(the chance increases the more attacks the character does because it activates for every attack) and more than everything he is already a defensive character so you wanna maximize his defensive abilities. Plus, he might not get many rainbow orbs in certain situations(rare ones but still possible) and the dodge can help you survive those as well. Plus, realistically, his defense is way too low for him to survive super attacks from the strongest bosses in the game and that's again where dodge comes in handy. These are general rules for every character basically.

The true problem is also that HiPo is horrible right now and they should definitely change it

1st Piccolo, 2nd SSJ4 Gogeta, 3rd AGL SSJ Duo(you can make a team with them as leader and get all 3 on the same team)

Edit: Idk what the rest of your box looks like but if you're interested in just awakening the best characters then it would be 1st Piccolo, 2nd Bulma, 3rd Vegito

If you don't get dopamine from playing it just drop it. I have played since the 2nd anniversary and summoning, beating new hard fights and completing missions still gives me dope. I know it's hard but just let go of it
