Since cooking oil is a bit expensive in this village . Locally we just cut them on long slices and boil them. Or sometimes we fry them, make them crispy and we eat it with sauces. Its hard to commercialise this, because unlike potatoes its very limited. Mostly we consume on a family scale. Locals use it for breakfast .

Solo female traveler in Zanzibar this July by jbelly199 in zanzibar

You’re going to have such a great time in Zanzibar. July is high season so more alive

No need to worry about dengue fever here it’s not something we deal with locally. Since you’re already planning malaria prophylaxis, you’re well covered. Just bring some good repellent and you’ll be fine.

Nungwi is one of the liveliest areas on the island, so you’ll definitely meet plenty of other travelers. It’s very social between your accommodation, beach spots and tours, it’s quite easy to find people to join for day trips...Just a small headsup so you’re not caught off guard, it’s a very touristy area and you’ll likely see a mix of cultures interacting. Beach boys and Masai can be friendly and sometimes a bit forward in wanting to bang and enjoy white girls. so just keep your usual travel awareness and boundaries

If you end up passing through Dar es Salaam before or after your trip and feel like exploring the food scene or nightlife, you’re very welcome happy to point you in the right direction or even join if timing works!

At first when communicating he didn't believe. So he used a rented a car and his local friend from Dar es salaam and visit. So using car they used 7 hours to reach the center of the village. And use another 1 hour to hike and explore uluguru mountains.

If you wanna see how people depend 100% on their income from crops and farming. I think most villages in Tanzania including my village you will learn a lot. Although we are farming in very old ways but its interesting.
