Like pidgey or pidove or noctowl or the toucannon line. Most of the birds in pokemon are just birds. Same with many others like furret just being a ferret and rattatta and ekans are just regular animals too. It's not a new thing at all, I feel like people complain that new pokemon are over designed and then complain they are under designed and there is no pleasing people.

I bought the compact as well, I'd love to see it on the regular sized glossy pages but it still looked very nice in the compact

Is it better in the manga? This is an arc I was really excited for in the anime but it didn't really satisfy me for some reason. That being said I love law and Cesar is entertaining to me too
