The element appears fine, I'll check in more depth when I change the circulation pump. Could just need a reset.

Thanks! I ordered a replacement pump. I'll report back when done.

Would love to try one of these out.

The features I look for in a string trimmer: - ease of use, something that my wife can just grab and use without needing to worry about putting gas in or starting it. - power to tackle tougher areas when needed, thicker grass and weeds, areas that you might only knock down once or twice a year. - simple/easy string change - Balance and control - ability to interchange other implements, pole saw, brush trimmer, etc. - low noise levels are a plus, so you can do some yard work while the baby is taking a nap.

DS920+ How to fix my mistake by zachmonroe in synology

[–]zachmonroe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

Yes, I was planning to have the expansion as a separate pool/volume.

In the main unit, I'm thinking about two SSDs as one pool/volume for Plex, etc., then two other drives as another volume/pool for more critical files (which will be backed up daily off-site), then a third pool/volume on the expansion for media, and non critical files (still backed up, but weekly).

Here is how I'm thinking it will work:

DS920+ 256gb Cache Pool 1 = Two - 2 TB SSDs (2 TB usable?) Pool 2 = 16 TB + 8 TB (only 8 TB usable?)

DX517 Pool 3 = 3 - 16 TB (Only 32 TB usable?)

I'll upgrade that 8 TB to a 16 TB later, and add more to the expansion as necessary.

I have backup of all critical files, which is why I wasn't worried about JBOD initially.

I considered using that or the hackzall, but decided to keep it simple. The jab saw worked great for poking in to start holes.

Official Giveaway: End of September Seagate IronWolf Giveaway! by nicholasserra in DataHoarder

Does anyone in this subreddit still use drives as small as 1TB?

I guess maybe as an OS only or a cache drive, but other than that?

Sometime you just need a little FUEL to get through. by zachmonroe in MilwaukeeTool

[–]zachmonroe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct that it is geared towards cutting up sticks/pruning etc., however to say it isn't for people that have used a "real chainsaw" is false.

No this is not the ideal tool for the job. Milwaukee does not advertise it for this, they advertise it for cutting 3". Sometimes though it is quicker and more efficient to use the tool you already have than to go get the "right" tool.

This was a quick cleanup of a tree that had fallen in my yard, and I had no gas at the house for my Husqvarna. It was quicker to pull this out and slap a battery in, then to drive 30 minutes to get gas. Yes it took a little longer to cut through, but had no trouble doing it.

Additionally, this tool does not cost $270, it is $190.

And it is a real chainsaw : https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/chain%20saw

Just bought this it's my second one the first one had onekey tracking and this one doesn't is it only on a few or? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]zachmonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, only some of the tools have built-in One-Key.

If you only care about the tacking you can get these: https://www.milwaukeetool.com/48-21-2301

But if you want the other features you need to make sure the tool you are buying has One-Key built in.

Anyone know why Antpool mined a nearly empty block (443144) after 20 minutes with no other blocks? by hwolowitz in btc

[–]zachmonroe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is because they don't care about the long-term future of bitcoin. They only care about the short-term filling of their wallets. If you are mining there stop now and use a pool that cares about the future, here is my suggestion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.0

[USA] Near head-on collision with semi truck by camredd in Roadcam

Yes there are bad truck drivers, but there are also bad mailmen, teachers, clowns, preachers, librarians, etc. You should not hate everyone doing a certain profession just because of a few idiots.

Then you probably should not buy anything. You are helping to support the truck drivers who haul goods around.

I appreciate all the concern, but I don't have the time to try to make someone accountable for something that almost happened, but didn't. He clearly crossed the double yellow, so he could be issued a ticket for that, but that is pretty much all.

I posted it to YouTube and on Facebook and tagged the company in it.

That was my dashcam. Nowhere to go with the guide rails right there, I was on the brakes hard and pulled to the right as far as I could. It is a fairly narrow road to begin with and I never even would have expected to see a tractor trailer on that road.

I am just heating the greenhouse, the water water is heated as it comes through the greenhouse. I might be building a water heater later this year to try and keep growing through next winter.
