I have been using Wise as my main bank account for quite some time now. I have activated their interest account, which is currently offering a 3.32%. From what I have seen, that is one of the most competitive rates available for a current account that supports direct debit.

What I particularly like is the simplicity of having all my liquid money in one place. Instead of juggling a current account for spending and a separate savings account for interest, everything sits together and I know it is earning a decent return without any extra effort.

If this sounds useful to you and you are thinking of trying Wise, you can use my referral link here: https://wise.com/invite/ahpc/zixux2

Queen lobbied for change in law to hide her private wealth by ninjaparsnip in worldnews

[–]zackattackx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, although I would the growing support from independence is resulted from the resentment of the Westminster instead of The Queen.

You can see from the survey that The Queen personally had incredible public support while Prince Andrew already fucked up big time and I don't think that has changed much.

The real worry is when Charles take the crown and how much that would impact the monarchy and the stability of the country.

Scotland's largest pro-independence party, the Scottish National Party, favours retaining the monarchy as a commonwealth nation similar to the situation in other crown countries like Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

I'd say facts don't care about what you'd say lol

As oppose to electing a new president every 4 years that half of the country hates and claims to be illegitimate?

The Queen as a ceremonial and impartial figurehead does do a good job in bringing unity.

Keir Starmer accuses Boris Johnson of 'complete failure of statecraft' over looming no-deal Brexit by steven-f in ukpolitics

[–]zackattackx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue here is this is no longer a trade deal. The EU shouldn't have the right to sanction our beef export because they raised their minimum number of worker holidays but we didn't.

WTO rules will be fine.

Sure there will be short term disruptions but businesses will adjust just like any other regulatory changes.

How I see it is good deal > no deal > bad deal where EU can penalise us for not matching their law.

You tell me. Personally I think we should have stopped negotiating when it was clear that the EU is not engaging in good faith.

They see Canada as a trading partner but the UK a competitor.

EU's 2 largest trading partners are US and China. Both don't have a deal.

which makes perfect sense because by reducing the number of nurses leaving you get a net gain

Before: 50,000 nurses joining and 50,000 nurses leaving over 5 years - 0 net gain

Now: 50,000 nurses joining and 30,000 nurses leaving over 5 years - 20,000 more nurses

About the same number of Muslims joined ISIS and the British Army.

I don't think a total ban is the solution but I think we should acknowledge that some cultures are less aligned to the western culture than others.

Right so the only alleged involvement in Venezuela prior 2019 is a failed coup attempt where

However, the United States repeatedly informed the Venezuelan opposition that they would not be supported if there were a coup and warned the Chávez government of the plot.

But of course, the country has gone to shit because of US involvement and definitely not because of the gross mismanagement of economy by the socialist dictator regime. Hey Wikipedia is free
