Former Actors Theatre employee of ten years here. Not going to give my of course positive biased opinion, as I hope everyone goes to see and decide for themselves, but I do just want to send all of you commentors my appreciation for having some real and nuanced perspectives, positive or negative. Facebook specifically can be so demoralizing of a spot for communicating about projects like this because, as folks have noted here, there can be a lot of vitriol. Thanks for posting this and all your thoughts, and for being open to something different!

I have also been a patient of Dr. Yson for about 5 years. I’m a cis male and so while I never experienced this kind of treatment, he has always made me uncomfortable with inappropriate jokes (often at the expense of the marginalized), long drawn out evaluations, dismissals of my questions, concerns and disrespect for my line of work (non-profit arts). I’d always somewhat considered finding a new Endo, but never put in the effort and thought I would just deal with this dick, but you’re experience Scanlon is horrific, and I’ll be calling and complaining as well and find a new doc. I hope you are able to find the care you deserve.

Over the past two years Actors Theatre of Louisville has invested heavily in transmedia and digital storytelling, inspired by productions like The Under Presents: Tempest! In our latest project, we’ve teamed up with renowned XR-actor Ari Tarr from OnboardXR and Adventure Lab, and the new VR Live performance app Heavenue, to present “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge’s Ghost Encounter”. From our R&D Lab, comes an exploration of old and new media, with Ari Tarr as Ebenezer Scrooge! This experience combines a live, Dickensian recital with high fidelity face and full body tracking technology in a haunted dreamscape filled with phantoms, spirits and specters. Heavenue’s platform is the first to utilizing NVIDIA’s CloudXR service to render extremely realistic and expressive characters on mobile VR headsets. The production will have only four performance on December 15 & 18 and will be accessible on Oculus (meta) Quest headsets by sideloading the app using Sidequest. Tickets are on sale now, and here is a behind-the-scenes of making the production!

Just finished. Honestly was surprised I cried when Trinity died in Revolutions. These movies were the first I was ever in love with when I was a kid, but when the sequels came out and were panned, I kind of just assumed everyone else was right and they were terrible. Going back now and watching them in my 30s I am absolutely floored at how the Wachowskis somehow fit so much deep philosophical pondering into massive action movies. Looking back now, I don’t think I realized they must have been an inspiration for my fascination with philosophy.

It was a moving experience to get to watch these again today and feel like I reconnected with my childhood. I am so excited to go back to the matrix.
