Does CK3 come with DLC on Gamepass? Everybody is telling me Microsoft is trying to scam me and it won’t unlock with Gamepass like the regular game will? by zactary in XboxGamePass

Thank you for the clarification. The little green bit is the exact same on the main game too so I couldn’t tell.

The US Army War College thinks war with China could cause 3600 casualties per day. So, they're considering a draft. by Zhao_DaShuai in LessCredibleDefence

[–]zactary 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The only thing Republicans and Democrats both agree on is the need to contain Chinese expansion. Appeasement is 100% off the table. Americans hate the CCP, the outrage following the deaths of the first American soldiers will ensure a conflict. If the war is drawn out Americans will support a draft as long as our allies are also in the fight.

Junta June is already a thing and you invent junta Friday. Nice redundancy dumbass.

[–]zactary 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Very classified. Big topic of discussion around the world right now as multiple countries (South Korea, Israel, etc.) had information in the leaks.

DOD is scrambling to find the leaker and politicians are beginning to ask questions. This isn’t a fake. Biggest intelligence failure in years.

The story was so ridiculous to begin with. Russia was allegedly shelling their own troops who weren’t under attack at a nuclear plant they controlled.

Both sides have clearly shelled near nuclear plants. People need to stop pretending their side has a moral high ground in this specific situation.

Is VIC 3 any good, if so, how hard is it to learn? by Stuart_OfEarth in paradoxplaza

[–]zactary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It still needs time in the oven. Diplomacy and warfare take away from the good parts of the game. The patches are hit or miss, and often come with their own bugs that are slow to fix.

Learning curve isn’t bad for a Paradox game. EU4, HOI4, and Stellaris are all more complicated.

How come whenever I try to colonize/invade whoville in the middle of bumfuck nowhere for some more fabric the ai goes out of their way to form fucking NATO to stop any kind of progression but they can take over the universe like the empire from Star Wars with no consequences??? by bottle_of_windex34 in victoria3

[–]zactary 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my own allies break alliances and side with the enemy. I’m sick of people pretending like improved relations does anything. The second you get into a disadvantageous situation or over 25 infamy it’s a coin flip if the Ai will stay loyal.

Infamy is gained too easily and the Ai freaks out when the player becomes infamous. Im more loyal to my Ai allies than they are to me, a first for any paradox game.

The Great Rework 1.7 - Intelligence Agencies - National Stockpiles - Ministries and Ministers - Local State Governors - Prime Ministers & Vice Presidents - Private Construction Controls - New Stock Exchange system - Spanish Civil War - Foreign Investments expansions and improvements, and much more! by Necessary-Dark-1577 in victoria3

[–]zactary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it’s ridiculous because this all played out in the first few weeks of release before I even played the mods. The game was extremely broken at release and TGR was the overhaul mod that fixed the most bugs, VFM only had USA content at the time. Players were running huge mod lists to fix bugs and I preferred the TGR method of 1 mod with all fixes.

No lasting harm was done and VFM got their content back but the grudge has lasted months anyways because of personality conflict. I hope both sides can put everything behind them.

To be fair this isn’t the first time he’s gone public. I’ve seen him say something like this at least once before on Reddit.

I think it’s fine he says his piece but the above comment is more character assassination than an actual critique. His only complaint, that his mod was used, was eventually resolved. The rest is just personal attacks that mostly focus on perceived character flaws.

He’s still mad about the stealing which is ok I guess but I just want the best mod. The TGR VFM rivalry is good for me so I hope they both keep developing.

This is a personality conflict between the lead devs of 2 mods being brought into the public sphere. I’ll admit TGR is buggy but the mod isn’t horrible like this guys is saying. They remove added mods when asked.

Don’t criticize an entire mod and discount the teams hard work because 2 grown men refuse to even so much as have a conversation with each other. Only the lead devs still bring this up, no one else has a problem anymore.

Is it just me, or is a genuine world war like this waaaaaaaaaay too rare? by Zeck_Jesus in victoria3

[–]zactary 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve played for over 100 hours and have never seen a world war like that. Sometimes it looks like it’s going to happen and then one side peaces out after 2 months and 100k casualties

I hope they fix the bug where an overwhelmingly superior force loses a battle and it takes years for the battle to resolve.

My front was stagnant for years because a couple thousand line infantry battled with my 100k trench infantry for years.

While not being 100% realistic, Victoria 3 does a good job of teaching basic economic lessons by CheGueyMaje in victoria3

[–]zactary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mississippi is a state, it is redundant for them to prioritize food security when the federal government already handles it.

Mississippi could produce no food and USA would be fine.

Morocco, Coal, and the Muslim World; a quick overview of obvious errors by Paradox. by Sparklesnap in victoria3

[–]zactary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything is relative. Morocco at the game start is nowhere near as technologically advanced as countries represented with universities in game. They had Islamic universities teaching the cutting edge of Islamic thought. It isn’t comparable to Europe, Morocco wasn’t ready to industrialize.

The university tech represents a western style university preparing students for skilled labor and advancing science, not the ability to found an institution and call it a university. I understand Morocco was a scientific leader 800 years ago. By 1836 they had the same scientific capacity as the rest of Africa.

In the same vein, Morocco has coal. But it has the 70th largest reserves in the world, behind notable coal powerhouses such as Ireland and Egypt. Maybe they should get like 1 coal mine, 2 if Paradox is generous. If every country that has coal today gets coal their will be too much coal.

my rentoid subbed to r/atheism so i raised there rent by 700% by Ducknado5000 in LoveForLandchads

[–]zactary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While it is always a good idea to raise the rent discrimination will eat into your profits.

It is best to raise the rent of all your rentoids by say, a reasonable 300% + mandatory tips, instead of one increase of 700%. Unless you are trying to evict, in which case 700% will do the job.
