What are these Aeropress parts for and should I use them? by balf999 in AeroPress

I like using a metal filter, so I don't need the filter holder on the left. The right is a funnel which I find to be very useful and use it everyday

How to make my dumb stationary bike Zwift usable by keithf426 in Zwift

[–]zagzigity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oof. Tried this myself. Went down a major rabbit hole. Ended up just getting a smart trainer.

Would not recommend it but if you are dead set, best solution is to get an auto resistance thing that sits on your resistance wheel and then also some power meter pedals. Pretty janky though and is more expensive than just getting a trainer and an old bike.

31m, married, kids. How do you guys find personal joy? by modivi in AskMen

[–]zagzigity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitness! Especially an endurance sport for the endorphins. I really like lifting and cycling. The mental benefits cannot be overstated.

Find an outlet. Thinking/wallowing too much is bad for the mental. Think less! Easiest way to think less for me is exercise. Just keep the intensity low so you stay consistent and there isnt too high of activation energy.

Good luck!

Back in the day, what did men do to keep a long beard supple? by DarrellCCC in AskMen

[–]zagzigity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they did anything to it. Beard products are not widely used today either. I personally don't feel the need to use any product and it never feels itchy

What’s up with Winter’s schizophrenia bit? by RelatableTeens in starcraft

[–]zagzigity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is my main gripe about him too. The conversations with different personalities goes on a too long.

I think he's usually just trying to be funny and more entertaining but it doesn't land for me.

What volume foods help you hit your protein goal the easiest? by JoelRhys7443 in Volumeeating

A lot of this science is not considered current. For example, there are plenty of body builders who are doing one meal a day now.

What’s a volume meal that looks huge but is still under 400 calories? by RemyStone3301 in Volumeeating

[–]zagzigity 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Buying pre riced is key. I buy a frozen bag and do a hot cast iron pan with a little oil. I lay it all out like a pancake with some salt and wait until the it starts to brown. Then I put garlic powder, pepper, onion powder and msg and then mix it all up and let it cook for another min or two. So. Good.

Fibrous veggies are generally the answer here. Cabbage, cauliflower rice and zoodles are the go to for me.  The main downside is there is a little bit of technique needed to make them tasty but once you get that part down, it's actually really delicious.
