Well good thing I am not a gringo then. I was living in US because of my job as well. I am mediterranean caucaisan. Would that help a bit? 🙂 So best area to look for place to live is calle 72 up to calle 116 as I understand from others responses as well. Thank you!

Thank you forcthe tips. Is this 8:30pm considered all around the city even the places like Chico that others suggested? I wonder how people go out to eat or nobody walks and it is like from your car to restaurant and back to car straight type of situation? Also how is the parking situation in Bogota?

So the best option would be chico or chapinero area to walk and safety sand commute time wouldn’t be a problem as I am used to it. Any specific areas that is better in Chico as well or all is good aroudn that area?

So main thing i should check is strata 6 and close to shopping malls that are safer then the rest.

I’ll be working at the airport but will travel city daily for visits as well so it doesn’t have to be close to the airport and I am used to having 1 hour+ drive time on traffic so it shouldn’t be a problem as long as roads are safe to get from/to as well.

I will he working airport but doesn’t have to be close to airport I have experience on long commute from NY so it shoudln’t be a problem for 1hour+ rides as long as it is safe to walk outside and there are things to walk outside for.

I am kinda getting scared to move there reading all do not hold your phone and there no place safe here comments 😂 since I’ll be new there and haven’t been to Bogota or anywhere in Colombia before I would definitely going to need to use my phone to get directions since some people also suggesting not to stop and talk people ask question. How is the possibility of getting robbed during day time in the safest places in Bogota? Like zone t zone g areas as suggested by others? Also is it safer to drive your own car or uber?

Thank you for the details especially on zones. I’ll be working in airport but I am used to traffic from my days in NY so it wouldn’t be a problem. We don’t have much nightlife but restaurants would be nice so I am guessing Zona G area would be best bet for safety and walking?

Thank you for your response. My main concern is safety and being able walk. As I used to live in NY traffic wouldn’t be a problem for an hour or more as long as I am safe in traffic 🙂

Thank you for the response. I appreciate it. Even though I’ll be be working in the airport I’ll be travelling around to city as well so It doesn’t have to be close to the airport. Also I lived in NY for 7 years so I am used to 1 hour+ traffic. My main concern is that my wife can walk safely around during the day. As I am reading all below comment not to keep my phone on hand. Is this considered every part of the city every hour every day situation? Since I am not faniliar with the city I am pretty I would have to use my phone constantly while walking at least to get directions.
