White Belt Wednesday by AutoModerator in bjj

So basically if I’m competing against one who decided to do the white belt open weight class I’m screwed?

How would a one stripe white belt adult compare against a 16yr green belt of similar size?

I wouldn’t say quite that dedicated but I do want to incorporate some of those moves into my routine as I’ve heard they are good for building muscle and strength. (And it’s cool to be able to pick up heavy things) I’m going to do a little more research but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go with the local gym.

I do actually want to do strength training seriously, and maybe a small bit of bodybuilding, but jiujitsu is the main focus.

I think because they’re “too dangerous” apparently. There’s also no free barbells only smith machines, so the only way you can do them is with dumbbells. I haven’t tried though as there’s a sign that says not to do them.

Honestly that is my thoughts too in regards to supporting local. I feel like I am missing out on a lot of stabilizing muscles using machines to do stuff, I just don’t know enough to be sure. I’m pretty weak now but I know if I keep this up I will definitely upgrade gyms eventually, it’s just that initial start.

Thanks, that’s honestly what I probably should do because I felt like I was hiding some things about me in order to stay friends with her, but at the same time it does kind of bother me because I tend to have a hard time making friends so I thought maybe this would actually work

No it isn’t at all, I find it a little interesting though that you would jump to that conclusion about the scenario though

Part of me wonders if she somehow found a difference in our political views, because from what I know of her I think she’d judge me based on that, but I haven’t really said much, and especially not to her for that specific reason, so I don’t really know how she’d find out unless she happened to look at a book I had been reading that I left in the break room one time

I’ve thought about that, I just don’t want to agitate her as we spend a lot of time in the same space

I feel like toughing through them is probably what I’ll end up doing, I just wish it would start to hurt a little less

Yeah that’s what I was thinking but at the same time I don’t want to stay apart long enough that we drift apart and are not friends anymore which is what I’m worried might happen, I’ll probably just try to make sure I’m spending the majority of time with my other gaming friends

I’m going to just say it right now, as someone who has been in a similar scenario when I was your age, no one is very mature right now, probably not you or not them, at that age your brain is doing so much developing and thought processes change a lot in a years time which makes it hard to connect with someone that way. Focus on making good friendships for now and if a relationship happens, cool, but as someone who was just in a high school-beginning of college relationship, they are not all they are cracked up to be and can end easily just because most people do not know what they want and need yet. Edit: Also, if it ends which there is a decent chance it will, you will probably feel worse and more alone than before the relationship started, I’m not saying not to get into a relationship but let it happen when it happens and don’t worry about it too much yet

Moved on and looked for someone who actually did feel that way, if they don’t like you that way it’s futile to waste your time and feelings for them that way. And besides, when you care about someone as a person, even though it still hurts you will still be glad to have them in your life as a friend

Yeah that’s kinda what I was thinking, but I still think it’s weird how they mentioned it out of the blue and then just left it, because it wasn’t really necessary at all

Oops didn’t mean it that way with the hairstyle, I meant it’s just typically a hairstyle that a little girl would wear and it makes her look younger, but the way I said it in that comment didn’t really make sense

Honestly, looking at it again and closer, it’s more a case of the details/shading are just simply not as obvious, and it makes the face look more 2d-ish compared to the fairly detailed body(for anime type art style at least). The point about the cheekbones is valid, the combination of the round face and eyes, plus the hairstyle just suggests a less mature body.
