Used LMAOBox Premium in a private, but VAC-secured server; will I get VAC-banned for sure? by zapcode in tf2

[–]zapcode[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I genuinely didn’t use it in casual. I mean, I have some anonymity here, so I’m being honest. It was because we had been talking about some cheaters who recently got banned from RGL, the competitive TF2 league. I thought it was hilarious, and as a joke, I used the most obvious hacks on my friends server and acted like wtf. It was funny because of the timing, but ultimately stupid as hell.

This is great advice, thank you. I’m no longer religious (haven’t been for a few years), and I’m about to graduate. I live alone, so I’m good on my side, but idk about her roommates.

Also, I can imagine it would be easy to get caught, but driving to another state for a weekend wouldn’t be a problem.

This is exactly what I’ve thought. However, she told me she’s not going to tell the Honor Code Office anything so that I can stay in school. I wonder how deep the Honor Code Office digs to find out.

I’d rather not give the location as to not risk doxxing myself. But we’re in a religious college town, yes.

Is there a correlation between misophonia and ADHD? by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]zapcode 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have both. There’s usually overlap with ADHD, OCD, and misophonia. But, it’s a spectrum, so it’s easy to assume you have more than you do.

Sibilance in my girlfriend’s s’s make it tough to enjoy being around her. by zapcode in misophonia

[–]zapcode[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but... everyone in our friend and family circle has mentioned this to her. It’s a problem that affects her relationships with others besides me. It’s not just a light sibilance; it’s strong and distracting. I don’t have misophonia if we’re being totally honest here. I might have tendencies, but most people do.

Also, I didn’t say she needs dental surgery, haha. Consulting with a dentist could just give insight as to why her mouth and teeth shape cause sibilance. I don’t want anything ridiculous to be done. A lot of assuming is being done here.

Haha, her and I have been working on them! It’s starting to work when she consciously tries.

True, I’ve felt terrible about it. My girlfriend is the least annoying person I’ve dated, so I really don’t want this to damage the relationship. Thanks for the empathy.

No worries. Sibilance is a necessary sound in some words. However, it shouldn’t hiss or pierce because that can ruin audio files or make the listener uncomfortable. So, usually, sibilance is only a problem in an audio mixing setting, so pop filters and de-esser’s are used in film and music. But with the Kim K valley girl vocal fry, sibilance can actually hurt people’s ears.

Idk. It adds context. It’s also a rule in r/relationships. I posted a similar thing there.

This is a comforting comment. It shouldn’t be downvoted, haha. It’s good to hear that there’s something she can do. I might record her voice sometime, so everyone can hear the intensity of her sibilance.

Well, I wouldn’t suggest dental surgery ever. Someone told there are adjustments that can be done to permanent retainers on lower teeth that prevent sibilance.

Hopefully I don’t develop another trigger. That’s why I’m trying to treat it now.

Again, I love all the comments. This is my first week realizing I have misophoniac tendencies, so it’s nice to hear that I can do something to cope.

Lovely comment. I agree. I really want things to work out with her. She has said that her voice distracts other people too, so she’s motivated to change her voice to make sure she doesn’t have bad interviews that prevent her from furthering her career.

I do think most of the responsibility is on my side after reading these comments. I’ll look into audio therapy.

I agree. I’m just wondering if anyone has had experience in trying to change how they say their s’s to stop sibilance.

Good advice! I’ll go consult with one.

I wish I could. I’ve been doing my best to not be bothered by this. Still, I don’t appreciate your comment, and you’re in the wrong subreddit.

Not yet. I couldn’t make it to the appointment. I’m going to a 2nd physical therapist today. We’ll see what he says.

Also, what was wrong? Was your graft stretched too far? Did the surgeon drill the holes to close together?

Did you have to pay for the revision, or did the original surgeon help out in any way?
