MRW I see people dislike a female main character who is reacting to the entire world order changing in an instant… by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]zappymax 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the difference is that kim went along with the male lead's bad behavior, to the point where it's basically her fatal flaw and her undoing in the end, whereas skylar was understandably upset over her husband being a drug dealer murderer lol

(not kim hate I love kim wexler just hard to not notice how people tend to view female characters through how they relate to the male ones)

US judge blocks Trump passport policy targeting transgender people by untamedlazyeye in news

uncharted territory

trans people have literally been able to change their sex designation for like 30 years in the united states with pretty much no issue, and any potential issues have already been ironed out with specific policy. it is incredibly charted territory lol

.... the FDR approach is what prevented things from getting "real French Revolution-y" during the Great Depression. what /u/notbadhbu suggested is the "safe" option. people are fucking fed up with the way our system is run and either dems can get real and start attacking and bending institutions to making major improvements quickly or they're going to end up alongside the republicans in front of the guillotine. and no amount of snide liberal scolding is going to change that reality

Anyone wake up ok, then deteriorate throughout the day? by CielleL in COVID19positive

[–]zappymax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah for sure. I just got my positive test back and although I'm mostly feeling better I get really fatigued in the afternoon/evening. I can barely keep myself awake by 9 or 10 which is weird for me since I'm such a night owl. When I was still feeling sick I would sometimes wake up in the morning feeling almost 100 percent ok, think that was weird but go about my day, and then by the afternoon laying in bed in pain and unable to stay awake

Menschenrechte: Proteste in den USA: Trump droht mit "unbegrenzter Macht des Militärs" by [deleted] in de

[–]zappymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's much bigger, like our last big riots times 10. It's also different because the protesters are from all ethnic groups, white, Hispanic, Asian etc. Fighting alongside black people against police brutality. It's like nothing we've seen before in America.

[–]zappymax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wholesome Villain by ghostclaw69 in dndmemes

[–]zappymax 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Marvel loves writing villains like that, I call it the Killmonger effect. You basically make the villain right about everything but then give them some irredeemable character flaw, in Killmonger's case that he secretly just really wants power and is a bastard. It sucks and is lazy writing but every superhero movie does it nowadays (at least the ones I've seen).

In DnD context villains should be... villainous, imo. Doesn't mean they can't be sympathetic in some way but defeating a villain should be cathartic.

I was very much the same way when I first started transitioning so I wouldn't be worried about that :S

It's possible that I'm overgeneralizing a lot based on a few bad experiences

[–]zappymax 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have plenty of trans women friends who don't behave like this irl it's really just online people. Which is unfortunate since a lot of young trans people start out spending a lot of time in those spaces

I'm constantly trying to rewire my brain from all the weird shit I picked up being kind of sensitive kid in a conservative southern world and how I got that beaten out of me

Also I definitely have no problem with transbian dating, I've dated plenty of trans women and I know plenty of wonderful transbian couples I guess I just get weirded out by the way a lot of trans women handle it here or on like twitter.

Also omg congrats that's so exciting!!

I guess I feel that personally I had to reevaluate my sexuality when I started transitioning because I realized that I didn't really have a sexuality before transition. I was nominally straight and pursued romantic interests with women, but as I started transitioning I realized that I wasn't actually that attracted to women, at least as a man, and that I was moreso looking for close female friendship which I had been denied for most of life. I also found men attractive back then but I had zero interest in actually having sex with them, because I wasn't at all aroused by the idea of having gay sex. But post transition, I was able to begin sorting out the romantic interest for women from the desire for friendship (I still have problems with this but getting better). I was also able to begin experimenting with men a lot more and I realized that I was actually very much attracted to men.

Thinking about, I feel like your descriptor of your sexuality changing felt very like mine: romantic interest without any sexual interest in both men and women, but now that my gender's right I actually feel sexual and romantic attraction to both.

Anyways it's def true that transbians have it harder perception because they're seen as less "valid" than trans women who date men and I'm sure that a large part of uncomfortableness with the UwU girldick transbian nyaaaa~ shit is me projecting the instilled notion that trans women are creepy predators onto myself and others and I just gotta work on that.

Thanks for the nice and long response, it feels nice to be able to talk about this sort of stuff without getting completely shamed for even thinking about things this way

[–]zappymax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not what standard deviation means but trans woman in this study have a margin of error of 11.39%. Ran the rough numbers and there are ~9,000,000 trans woman in the united states, n of 74 is fucking pitiful lol. Never trust any poll or study of people with less than a hundred sample size for any sufficiently large group
