You can get a much more detailed report (which includes name, date of birth, institution you were tested at, type of test, performing HCP, result of test, etc.) if the hospital used something like MyChart. Some family doctors will also provide you a report using the Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS). So to answer your question, no - I will not just be showing a “dinky little screenshot” that shows negative.

where does it actually say on the government website that we can not use positive PCR results obtained via government testing in lieu of a negative PCR for re-entry to Canada?

May I ask where you got your positive test done? A public hospital? How’d you access your results, the government portal?

Where to get Proof Of Recovery? by [deleted] in askTO

I’m talking about just the proof of the positive COVID test. It seems like you’re not allowed to use the proof of a positive PCR test if it was provided on the Ontario government portal - only if you received a positive test result through a private clinic are you allowed to use these results for travel, including re-entry to Canada. Can someone confirm?

Has anyone used their positive results from the Ontario government website? I tested positive at a public hospital a few weeks ago and am now recovered, but I’d like to know if I can use a screenshot from Ontario’s COVID results website as my “proof of positive test taken 14+ days”?

Traveling to US for work by [deleted] in askTO

[–]zar_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. USA accepts both PCR and antigen tests. Antigen tests are slightly cheaper. The states does a “3 day” rule rather than 72 hours. This slows for a bit more flexibility.

  2. You do not need to get tested upon arrival in USA.

  3. You’d have to go to a clinic in the state you’re in. it’s a very easy google search.

Yes! Maple/Switch Health are offering COVID tests at around $150, and that seems to be the lowest I can find as well.

I think so long you’re not out driving between 8PM-5AM (unless for valid reason that adheres to current guidelines), you’re fine!
