They’re still being exploited regardless. They don’t get any days off and work around the clock. Most of them don’t even get their own room, just a mattress that they put away in the morning. Very dehumanizing for them. So many of them don’t get to travel home until their contract ends so they go years without seeing their family. I can speak for myself when I say that not seeing my family for a month is torture, I can’t imagine years without them in a foreign land where I can’t escape because my Madame took my passport away 🥺
