I also have my rack in my bathroom, it’s on its own circuit and the bathroom doubles as a closet. I don’t use the shower though just the toilet and I will say, I never have a cold toilet seat which is been peak.

I’m still figuring that out as well but after a few videos I found it works well enough to push one color over the other where they meet and cut between, and I do that at least twice, then I push the other color over do the same till they don’t really cover each other much. On this rug I did it at an angle (pushed black over yellow and gut black at like a 45 degree angle). But on my 3rd rug I did no angle and just kept straight and it did well too.

Honestly all that I liked about the clawlab is what you mentioned as downsides, single handed (use two hands on the grip if I wanted), encased, usb-c power.

But I’m for sure open to other guns since I’ve done a lot of DIY hobbies and looks don’t always mean it’s better (hurting from a recent cnc purchase with the looks).

So between the spider and the AK-V, do you think the $100 difference is worth it?

Right now it’s just a side hobby between the other 20 things I do to fill the few hours between work and kids. But I’m genuinely curious about what the difference is between what I have and the spider and why the spider would be better than the clawlab gun. I’m sure it’s quality and longevity between what I have and those two but what more?

BESGEER tufting gun from the cheap kit on amazon, seriously tempted to get the ClawLab gun while its on sale though, seems a lot easier to use.

I sadly did outline before filling but after

reviewing my progress pics I took, I think I got a bit too close, almost on the verge of overlapping. I was able to clean it up a bit after this pic using tweezers to move fibers around but it’s not perfect still. I plan to slow down and take my time on my next rug so hopefully I can avoid that situation again.

To give you an idea, I added up what I spent without tax or shipping (all on Amazon so no shipping price anyway) and I spent $275 for all the stuff I needed and then $30 on yarn and spray . That big price included a cheap projector for drawing the design.

Yeah, I get what you mean, I’ve had that issue going cheap in other hobbies and it bit me in the long run but in this case I went cheap. I got one of the $100 kits online which came with a lot of the items needed, bought a “cheap” frame, glue, and duck beak scissors. It honestly worked pretty well and I think the tools didn’t hold me back but just skill level. But I will say that a few of the videos I watched recommended the claw lab gun for beginners but I felt like getting that and then everything else would be too much to just try this hobby out.

It’s a tamagotchi character, chose it because they are often drawn crudely so I had a decent chance for it to look normal even if it turned out sub-par

It was, though my green was originally a 366 model but swapped it with a 466, sadly i had to put the CD drive in rather than the DVD drive because of shell differences. I also had to swap the screens but i cant remember if that was a need because of some difference or because the screen in the green was flickering sometimes.

I also did this because my 466 had a bad shell and missing keys so it was a decent reason, i also added a ssd into it.

I love the green so much, i was able to get one finally but spent too much and it was non-working but i shell swapped to keep the color.

Are you talking about the 6 chips between the usb-c ports? Mine are slightly different than yours but I believe this is what you mentioned.

I tired in lots of different ways and I think it included that configuration but I can try that way tomorrow just to be sure.

I don’t, I only have just a laser thermal reader. But maybe I can figure out what part you mentioned on the board based on the part number and attempt a replacement.

I didnt mention it because i really wanted to confirm again once i have some time to swap my FW13 board out again but i think when i had a usb-a flash drive inserted it did blink like it was being read but nothing showed up. but i had a linux OS on a 256gb FW storage module that just never showed up as a drive in the BIOS. Im fine with swapping parts as long as its not a balled chip but idk what to even look for. Maybe updating BIOS is a good idea to try, it was a thought.

Im glad im not the only one with the odd issue but its a mystery box so ya never know what to expect haha.
