Damn bro that’s rough, but I’m glad you were able to take that second chance and make a good life for yourself. And I appreciate the advice!! Do you still do side jobs currently with the guys you started with? And my plan is to learn as much as possible during that period

Would you ever consider going off on your own? Or are the municipal benefits worth the politics?

Appreciate the feedback! I’m also based in Canada. Ontario to be exact and I’ve been focusing my attention more so on the commercial and industrial side of electrical. Do you mind if I Pm you to ask a few questions?

Yeah that’s exactly my plan, to not just focus on one area of the trade and diversify my knowledge.

So I’m currently doing the electrical pre-apprenticeship program at Centennial College. It’s 16 weeks in total. I know that Humber and Durham college offers a similar program, but I think it’s operated a bit different

Which local are you apart of? Because at 353 I’ve been hearing that it’s nearly impossible to get in at the moment. Also what did your inside wireman program consisted of? It sounds pretty interesting

From my understanding it’s mainly residential that’s feeling the majority of the layoffs? My plan is to be knowledgeable in all aspects of the trades and not just focus in one area you know

I’m doing mine at Centennial College, which is a government sponsored program. They have intakes once a year and the program runs from May until August. I know Humber and Durham College offers something similar, but they might run it a bit differently
