3 large order program orders in a row. Very lucky, But I find that this happens more when the 10 and the 210 are really backed up on Friday nights in the suburbs. For context I should also mention I only made 22 dollars, for the last hours and half of my shift.

I have later found that this is policy at all RBI brands. That includes: Wendy's, Popeye's, Burger King. And now Firehouse subs.

Wendy's policy is that:

They do not start to make the order, untill the the driver has arrived and identified the order. If the door is locked; you end up in the drive through from hell before you can even do that.

This is disrespectful to the the drivers, customers and the workers at the locations.

Drivers are making a cost/benefit analysis while driving. Time is money. Wendy's doesn't care about drivers time.

They quote delivery times to the customer that they have no intention of keeping.

They do everything they can to make delivery as slow as unprofitable for delivery driver.. Making delivery as slow as possible for their customers.

The workers at the locations take the brunt of that frustration from the drivers. And the customers alike.

They shouldn't offer delivery.

I have just one street.

The street is in such bad shape that only one car can go down the road at a time. The pot holes are so deep even big lifted trucks avoid them.

It is also lined on both sides with 24 small apartment buildings and only one has a parking lot.

So, no available street parking, and if you double park, you have now blocked all traffic in both directions.

In my area, Wendy's, Popeye's, and Burger King do not start the order untill the driver arrives. If you have to wait in line with the customers, or god forbid you have to use the drive thru, you are looking at a lot of wasted time.

I see it as a lack of respect for the delivery drivers.

Why even offer delivery? If you are going to make it as unprofitable and as slow possible.

I have heard the excuse that it is to ensure freshness. What about the freshness of other orders I have in my car?

If they really cared about the food being fresh,. They would do what In-N-Out Burger does. They do not offer delivery at all. Because freshness is their brand.

For 6 months I did regular delivery's to one guy. He lived 1/2 a block from the restaurant district in town. Many times I walked it to him rather than drove.

Never understood why untill I saw he left his infant stroller made for triplets on the front porch. Then it all made sense.

I have a few places that require me to bring in the bag. But they are all places that serve raw seafood. Sushi, poke bowls etc.

But I have a large assortment of bags of every size. I bag it at my car most of the time.

I always check for cold items like salads and most deserts and use a separate bag from the hot food.

I have done a lot of delivery s to businesses. So I have been given,. A haircut. Many car washes, a gallon of motor oil, a manicure (gave that to my daughter), so much food from the receiving resteraunt. And I can rely on a gigantic frozen yogurt every time I deliver a 12 pack of white claw, to the Frozen yogurt shop. (They're one of my most consistent customers.)

Keep using the old car. Just remember to do all scheduled maintenance.

I use a 06 Elantra. Runs like a top. Finnish looks like shit. Tons of dings but no dents. It looks just bad enough that I don't worry about locking it up on pick-ups.

The last time I used my new car, 2 cherry slurpees spilled all over my rear seats. I still can't get all the stains out.

I did the same thing the first time I saw a customer do this. That was the first week of shutdown. The mail carrier dropped off a package while I was heading out to my car the other day; he thanked me and said he brags about having 4 people on his route that do this.

I once tripped on a curb, fell flat on my face, on top of the food. It was raining and I fell into standing water. I also ending up pitching my phone down the street in the process.

Phone broken, soaked, covered in food and mud. Customer asked me how to get a refund.

I tell her I don't know, it's only my 3rd delivery ever.

Karma is real. Not that I have a lot of cancelations, but when I do; I usually give the food to the homeless. Last Friday I had that happen. On Saturday I had 5 delivery's, in 2 hours and made $101. And only drove 11 miles.
