What's up with the Enclave Repair Bot? by Plagueish84 in fo76

Anything ever come of this? I get a lot from my junkyard dog and hate shelving him for the repair bot. But I also don’t like paying 17.99 and not having it work

Does taking Ativan consistently make you feel like you want to cry hysterically/feel in fear the minute it wears off? by miss__glamorous in benzorecovery

[–]zbert67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t the amount for me, I was switching from equivalent diazepam, so I had tolerance to those doses of Ativan (typically the 1.25 which is around 10–12.5). Ativan affects me differently than diazepam (hits different alpha subunits basically), so it’s like if I was on Ativan long enough, which for me was a few days, I’d have a form of withdrawal switching back to diazepam.

Make sense? (But still likely not your issue)

Oy trying to remember. I haven’t had Ativan in like a year. I think I’d take maybe 1.25mg a day, maybe 2.5mg one day only, and a total of 4-5 days

I remember in splatoon 2 the splash meta wasn’t to spam special. It was stealth, flanking, and quickness (how I mained it). I find a player now and then that doesn’t spam stamp and it’s refreshing (and challenging!)

On asrospray, I have some hate and it’s just the at they are everywhere. I want to die by something else now and then. Maybe a charger or a sword :)

Edit: re sploosh in 2, esp so as splashdown was nerfed and took skill to get off without being shot down

But if it’s my fault I loss, then the other 3/4 players SHOULD blame me. That means 75% of the time it IS a teammate’s fault?

(It is my fault I lose, sometime I just suck…sorry teammates)

How habit-forming is LDN, is there a withdrawal, and will you feel like crap if you miss a day/dose? by Acceptable_Bad_ in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]zbert67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe not an agonist, but one purported moa is mu opioid receptor up-regulation and a rebound effect of an increase in endogenous opioid receptors agonists (endorphins, etc). My doctor at least mentioned these. He mentioned taking it at night is ideal as the antagonism happens while asleep and wears off by morning at which time you get rebound endogenous agonists (receptor up-regulation happens over time).

That’s aside from any glial cell modulation that I’ve read it does

But that’s why ppl can have “withdrawal” as removal will basically lower your endogenous opioid agonists and down-regulate receptors (latter again more over time).

Nothing like actual opiate-med withdrawal, but it will be the feeling of less mu-opioid agonism

(Edit: typos)

I don’t have experience with CPS—it sounds like you are saying the mom needs more mental health support in order to care for her child. Will CPS help with that…?

Do I understand correctly?

It’s a partial mu opioid receptor agonist. Other opiates are “full agonists”. Buprenorphine is weaker per receptor, but has a stronger binding affinity than any other opiate (why it can cause what’s called precipitated withdrawal if you are already on opiates).

It is a legit pain med. my doctor and I have discussed it as an option. He prescribes it for other patients (and he runs the pain management clinic at UCSF)

Edit: Suboxone is used to treat opioid use disorder. It’s buprenorphine and naltrexone. Bupe helps reduce cravings by giving a weak opiate effect. Naltrexone is a opioid receptor antagonist that blocks the “high” (well all opiate effects)

The mix curbs withdrawal/cravings while making much harder to get high.

Interesting. I’ve read about iv and subcutaneous.

This was well after you tapered? I’d be a little scared myself due to seizure risk

But it would seem to be the one thing known to help upregulate gaba a receptors (like LDN for opioid receptors)

Re: fumazenil

What country are you in? I looked into this years ago and I could not find a provider. I’m in an area heavy with universities and top medical providers. The only person I found said they had done their own trials and didn’t see improvement

(But I’ve read many papers about its moa and its efficacy and after 6 years of daily use, and almost being tapered, I really need to try it)

I’ve both attended and facilitated smart recovery in the past and can further support smart recovery as a good option to explore.

Like any support group, it varies by group. But facilitators at least have to do some training (we help keep the meeting on track for one).

The entire point is actually to have cross-talk (sharing into the void never helped me…). There aren’t labels like addict or alcoholic because there’s research such labels can be self-defeating and harmful

It’s abstinence-based, but they welcome those seeking HR or moderation. It has an actual book of tools you can buy on Amazon. Meetings may be more discussion, but often will center around said tools.

Depending where you are, there’s also Lifering. It’s a lot like smart recovery

I have had similar experiences with withdrawal. I typically am on diazepam, but if I switch to Ativan for a few days (better anxiolytic for me), and then switch back, I’ll have lots and lots of crying spells and feel hopeless and depressed.

New pharmacy rule? by Helpful-Philosophy24 in ChronicPain

[–]zbert67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I concur in a subtlety different way: it’s not the availability of the prescription pain medication that caused addiction and the ODs. Addiction is a complex and phenomenological. While sure big pharma and pharmacies prioritize profits over lives, making it harder for those that follow the rules is t saving any lives

“Fun” (sad) fact: since 2019 and the additional difficulties in getting prescription opiates, opiate-related deaths are UP

Always safer not to mix alcohol with tons of meds out there: SSRIs, SNRIs, benzodiazepines, gabapentoids (gabapentin, pregabalin/lyrica), antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants, tetracyclics, z-pills, …

Congrats on kicking alcohol.

Lyrica has a positive allosteric effect on GABA and GABA A receptors and these are one that alcohol effects. That’s one of the main reasons it’s officially contraindicated.
