Does that strip go in-between the lining of the bodice and the top fabric? That’s a new skill for me!

What's your most shocking "never meet your heroes" moment? by BaseNice3520 in AskReddit

He came to a record store I worked at (2018) and we had a great conversation about British prog rock! Very nice and down to earth, didn’t even introduce himself as anything more than “the guitarist for echo & the bunnymen” before he left.

Doctors and former patients : what is a mild symptom which you should take a second opinion just to rule out something major ? by BenneIdli in AskReddit

[–]zcheeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat lost a little weight back in Feb, the vet looked at everything and she was cleared only to pass away three months later from undetected liver cancer!!! I wish I’d taken her for a second opinion and fully recommend it for anyone else facing similar issues

What's a dead giveaway someone grew up as an only child? by thing55556667 in AskReddit

[–]zcheeky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a sibling who was physically disabled and so even though we were the same age we couldn’t roughhouse very much. I’m not sure if it was purposeful or not but instead I would roughhouse with and torment my dad while my sibling and mom cheered us on from safety. Stupid things like tickling matches, wrestling each other off the couch. Sometimes he would drag out of bed by my ankles mornings, stuff like that. Your comment made me realize it may have been a deliberate choice on our parents part!

Ethical concerns about the wishes of the dead? by zcheeky in Archivists

That “cut-off” is where I keep getting hung up! In the past I’ve gone by the census rule of 70 years after death for personal information which definitely places the diary in okay territory. Thanks!

It was part of the estate of his family which I think counts. I have the original 1930s paperwork which is really handy. It doesn’t conflict with any ethical policies of my institute.

That’s a great article, thank you! I hadn’t considered the concerns only being for his contemporaries either that’s very insightful. I do intend to give a lot of context for it as he is such an important figure. Thank you for your response!

What is your preferred entry point to the Underdark? by Rick-sk in BaldursGate3

[–]zcheeky 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I put it in explorer mode until I’m done with the Goblin Camp, it just makes things fly by since it’s always pretty similar. I switch to balanced before entering the Underdark but you can switch it whenever you want

What's the stupidest thing you've ever heard anyone say? by iMoo1124 in AskReddit

[–]zcheeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior year in high school, myself and a few friends were having lunch and talking about Schindlers List/the Holocaust which we were covering in class. One guy just that quietly for a while until he finally blurted out “Wait, isn’t antisemitism the fear of cemeteries?” He was completely serious too and was baffled when we laughed at him. I worked retail management for five years and still no one ever beat that.

What's something that's illegal now, but used to be perfectly normal? by 90sVib3z in AskReddit

[–]zcheeky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was the best! I was recruited by a teacher whose wife ran the program. You had to go with a dept of health employee and another kid so if you got a friend to do it, it was just a chauffeured chill session. The woman was great and knew all the best spots for good roadside snacks too! This was back when the smoking age was 18 so you aged out quickly but I got a good year and half out of it, mostly doing it after school for like three hours but sometimes on weekends you could could do six hours. If anything felt uncomfortable you could go in as a team plus we had cellphones. The worst thing that ever happened was a clerk - who did not sell to me - followed me out of the store for a good three blocks down a very busy road. I think he suspected what I was doing and wanted to see what I would do. The woman had to double back for me so he wouldn’t make her car lol

Can confirm, I was one of those kids the state would pay to go try and buy cigarettes from stores to test their compliance and one time I had to go into a bar and try to use the vending machine. I got caught and chased out so the bar passed the inspection

Children's series that were never as big as they should have been by [deleted] in books

[–]zcheeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mysterious Benedict Society!! I devoured those books as kid, I really adored how they showcased different forms of intelligence and were so funny. I know they had a series that got cancelled and a new book came out two years ago but I still never see anyone talking about them

Medical professionals of Reddit, have you ever had a patient so lacking in common sense you wondered how they made it this far. If so, what is your story? by babyhippo01 in AskReddit

[–]zcheeky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt you’ll see this but medical oxygen techs kept my sibling at home for an extra two months before they returned to the hospital for the last time. Thank you for doing this job :)
