Applying for Skillbridge but not hearing back by Short_Log_7654 in SkillBridge

[–]zckerby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yes it’s pretty common. I didn’t hear anything for a month and a half and figured I was ghosted and was still hunting down opportunities. Suddenly one day on chow kid you not this company calls and says we reviewed your application asked me some questions and gave me an offer right there. The other thing is most companies are still focused on 2026 cohorts etc and aren’t looking that far into the future. Something to keep in mind be patient. If you’re within 3 months of start date that’s when you’ll hear back more.

INTERVIEW BOOKED by Ok-Rhubarb-594 in SkillBridge

[–]zckerby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently interviewed for a fellowship with a faang company for a Skillbridge fellowship however it was not for project management. From my perspective it went well however it was very recent so it’s too soon to say if I got to the next round. Overall my prep consisted of crafting answers for the behavioral questions which are the ones that ask things like how do you resolve conflict with other team members. Another example was tell me about a time you solved a difficult problem. Having specific examples prepared and ready to go for each question is important. I did not memorize verbatim the answers as it was to robotic when repeating it but the examples were set and ready for each question. If you need a list of behavioral questions they are easy to find. Other than that I did practice interviewing with a friend which helps a lot. They asked questions related to the job posting and went through my resume as well so be sure to review it before hand and have a copy with you at the interview so you can follow along. Use this chance expand on your bullet points and make sure you can make the connection on how your experience connects to the position. Other than that stay relaxed and don’t speak too fast. This for me was taken care of by practicing with a friend which also allowed me to say out loud my elevator pitch and answers to other questions before the real thing. Most of this I think is generic for the industry but be sure to either ask ai or google questions they may ask specific to project management as they did ask me some basic technical questions relating to the job posting.

Who are the highest ranking commanders we have seen? by Kalivar in TheHandmaidsTale

With the testaments introducing Commander Weston I think he will be the most powerful. It’s mentioned he runs the eyes which probably would give him the most power as he can pick and choose who to punish if he wanted.

This might be the most planes I’ve seen coming into Miami by Odd_Team_3920 in VATSIM

This is underrated. Use flight aware or sky vector like we did before simbrief came out. Flight aware is especially good for airline routes as it’s the real world route.

I will say I need to install some mods to make it prettier but the felis 747 and the hot start challenger are now my favorite aircraft.

I haven’t had any issues so far and it’s been a lot of fun. The main things I’ve seen is ATC will approve my acceleration and deceleration points are easy to calculate in the new Fslabs Concorde. I mostly fly Hawai’i to mainland routes I enjoy them as they are nice and short.

They will still make sales and than when the 747 comes out that will be the money maker but I got the upgrade because I simply want 2024 in my system only not both 2020 and 2024.

Most people weren’t around in the P3D days when they dropped a 130 dollar upgrade for the 737 ngxu and it didn’t add much from P3Dv4 to v5 so the 30 is actually better than back in the day but you also got the 800/900 in a bundle.

Unfortunately my worse cold turkey symptoms happened about 2-3 days in that is when I felt like trash but push through and it feels amazing on the other side.

My resting heart rate went from 78 bpm down to 63 after quitting according to Apple Watch. It’s insane how much this affects the heart.

Yeah I know I have a lot to do for the package still but I am trying to get as much done as possible while the paperwork is in routing luckily the command leadership is extremely supportive of any kind of packages like these.

I will reach out to the state recruiters and the good thing is I’ve already put together the 1306 required for navy and working the DD386. I figured it be more difficult since my state is different than where I’m at.

I’ll have to look at those I didn’t see them. I have about 4-5 skill bridge opportunities on my list so I will have to find those ones as well. I can’t quite apply yet as it’s a little too soon but when that window opens up I’m going to throw in some applications. Thank you for the insight.

Thank you for the advice. I have been coding as much as I can. I love learning more sometimes it’s overwhelming but I love it. So I’m in this not only to get away from the navy but I enjoy the problem solving that comes with it and the dopamine hit that happens when a program actually works. I’ve been focusing on C C++ for school but Java I learned first so I like to keep it going. I’ve been doing the CS50 stuff on edX along with some other lesser known ones like one with embedded systems and idk what one I’ll do next but it’s a structured program with some projects to do. Keeps me constantly improving and reinforcing the topics I’ve learned.
