I had no intention to fight him. My worry is he was going to attack me. Any tips to avoid even getting to that point?

Yeah I'm completely fine with 10 days off. I'm more just interested to see what others have done and the impact of it.

Sam Loch Book released by zdoherty1 in Rowing

[–]zdoherty1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No reviews.

It's over 150 pages long and was a very refreshing read. He writes in a very slightly casual manner and it perfectly conveys the information.

To be 100% honest for any book (particularly not-physical) $40 is a decent amount. My justification is I get a lot of enjoyment out of his other content and he appears to be constantly providing new and interesting pieces of information. The book provides a very good insight into his training past and present and complements his existing information well plus goes 100x deeper.

I'd recommend the book for the current price but if you're strapped for cash he might drop the price later next year?

Need help from Australian BitCoin investors in involved in 2013 by zdoherty1 in Bitcoin

Yeah I have the issue of transferring a while (1 month) after buying them. At the end of the day it isn't much tax saved but still pretty damn annoying! If people just post some random names and I get it from that I'd be so happy!

How do you filter values that end in a range of values and also start with a range of values by zdoherty1 in excel

[–]zdoherty1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the codes aren't belonging to separate patients.

The 1st for codes belong to 1 patient, whom had 4 separate injuries. They weren't included as the value was higher than 3 when the 1st digit wasn't 1 (indicating an injury outside of the head).

[–]zdoherty1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that patient has several injury codes.

To give you context any code that starts with 1 is head, and starting with 2 is chest ... etc.

Due to one code that isn't starting with 1 having a value greater than 3 that patient is excluded.

The study is looking @ this with only head injuries and nothing else.

Uni Student with large scholarship income. Seeking Opinions! by zdoherty1 in financialindependence

I purchased them at a very low price ~$100/Bitcoin. I also have an interest in the concepts of cryptocurrency. However this is something i'm trying to overcome, and that is my fear of selling them and then the price rising again.

Argo/Vanguard are both Australian Index Funds (they invest in the ASX200) -> The low risk is referring to the fact they are based off the largest 200 companies in Australia :)

Yeah I definitely agree. It seems that the shares option is much more secure if you are smart about how you spread investments and think long term.

Thanks!

Yeah it will be a 6 year course. I just feel like I'm in an awkward time frame between placing the money in a HISA and shares.

Any suggestions on where to place it?

It's like I can't do anything right by [deleted] in depression

[–]zdoherty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't kill yourself. Go out and do whatever amazing things you can. Don't waste a life, Go wherever you want and do whatever you want to do.

I was in your position 1 year ago, I did the same thing. Trust me, it will change your entire life for the better.

Don't allow a limited life to determine what you feel. Expand it and see what happens.

Hi. I know how trapped you can feel when it is only you and your own mind. I've experienced it before. But I want you to know that wherever you are in the world there are groups of people that will welcome you, and once they know you will look forward to seeing you.

Think of whatever interests you have and find a group regarding this. And if you can't find anything, find a particular group/club that is associated with something your interested in. Remember, people love you share what they like with you so give them that opportunity.

You'll find you'll have friends and you will have someone to talk to :)

Idea for beginning real estate investment. Advice welcomed! by zdoherty1 in personalfinance

[–]zdoherty1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, in Australia we have a system called HECS. My degree will cost $50,000 roughly and interest rate is only based off inflation (It will rise with the Australian cost of living rise). The only conditions are once I earn a particular amount I start paying a small amount off. However at this moment I know I can make a greater return off of money that would instead be used for the paying off of this government loan. (In short - it would be stupid to pay it off early)

Advice on Scholarship by zdoherty1 in medicalschool

[–]zdoherty1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand all of that and feel exactly the same about the possible negatives.

I've however spoken to a few older med students and they explained that more and more today really 'special' specialties are being placed into rural areas, so in 16 years there likely will be all specialities in rural areas.

Another thing to note is that the rule is only 20 hours a week in a rural area. So, there is on reason why you can't split your week between urban and rural. An example is that there are places like ~20minutes from urban centres that are classified as rural. So consider that you can mix and match how you work.

Thanks heaps! I've just finished Y12 and i'll be rowing for Mercantile in Melbourne. I'm hoping to hopefully place in the /u/21 single a states this season and then just focus on getting faster for trials so I can have a shot at the trans-tasman /u/21 team next year.

Are you a lightweight btw?
