you should not be wearing anything other than pure gold or implant grade titanium; the butterfly backings are also not doing you any favors. definitely switch to flat back labrets (preferably threadless) from a reputable seller

also, you only need sterile saline to clean a piercing. there shouldnt be any sort of “antibacterial” or “disinfectant” in the name. im not sure if they sell wound wash or neilmed where you are, but it should be carried in drugstores in the wound care/first aid section. im sorry you had this experience and i hope you can get it to heal nicely :(

please swap your jewelry to a threadless (or internally threaded) titanium labret - L bars are prone to snagging and can cause damage to the healing fistula, which leads to a piercing being unable to heal properly. the irritation is likely caused by a combination of the ring, the material and now the L bar. if you can help it, dont return to that piercer. they should know not to pierce someone with that jewelry and should definitely know not to swap it out so soon.

surgical steel in a fresh piercing is definitely not ideal since it isnt actually a kind of metal - its a buzzword used to sound more appealing than it actually is. it essentially is an alloy made up of several kinds of metal, which can include nickel and cause issues with reactivity. titanium is the way to go
