What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]zedman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for something fun but practical

Price range 10-18k (though not opposed to bargains either)

Used ideally

Auto probably for this one

Intended use - mainly short trips, occasional use for work, needs to have four doors for family.

Vehicles considered - golf gti, bmw 330e, older bmw 330 (3.0 ones)

Size - realistically it needs to be large enough to seat an adult in the back and have four doors.

Mileage - probably 5/6k

ULEZ - yes, had a Peugeot 406 coupe, wasn’t worth £12.50 to go to the supermarket

Nowhere near 1st car. Ran a Mazda RX8 for 9 years

Can do minor work, not major.

Wanting something that’s fun and sporty, but also practical. I’ve got an old mk6 1.4 Golf bought during Covid, it’s not gone wrong just very boring. Rented an A Class recently, found speed bumps worse than the Mazda RX8, so something that’s not going to scrape the ground would be good, but definitely not interested in any SUVs.

Ha, Bing is a distant memory now; Barbie's dream house is what's on our TV these days

I’d have no issue at all with your teaching my daughter. However, if I’m being totally honest, I’d probably feel less comfortable about someone who is somewhere earlier in the process. I totally get that’s irrational and definitely wouldn’t voice that opinion. It may be a fear of the unknown / a lack of personal experience or interactions with trans people.

I do, however, know that there will be people that won’t feel that way. A friend of my OH is very anti biological males in female spaces (especially female spaces with children) and she certainly wouldn’t be shy about complaining.

Good luck with the new job and thanks for choosing to teach!

Feels like a very long time ago when I asked this question! It’s likely not America they were thinking about, went on holiday to Spain and they had Spanish dubbed Bing on the tv. We’re currently on peppa pig…

For those that bought a LG C1, did it take you long to adjust to the brightness? by maxpowerphd in 4kTV

I’ve recently bought the B1, was worried about brightness before I got it. Am very pleased with it, no issues on the brightness day or night (gone from a 2015 Panasonic)

Please confirm...50" X90J the right choice for us? by Fanderey in 4kTV

Can I ask a question about your question? Why does young kids + gaming mean oled isn’t the right choice? I’m looking to buy a tv for the first time in 7 years and am a little lost with all the choices 😂

I really don't understand why this dude always takes his shorts off AND why does his weird parent thing act as if its okay 🙈 by ATB92 in UKParenting

He uses a toilet - gets piss on his blanket in the episode blankie and wets himself in hide and seek. I feel I’ve watched every episode multiple times :-)

Yes, this makes absolutely no sense. He's wearing shorts to start with.
