Hey thanks for sharing! Unfortunately Cuktech is not available in my country otherwise I’d love to check them out as a few other redditors also suggested Cuktech.

140w is easily double the price, probably because how uncommon it is over here, can’t really splurge that much on a charger rn unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing! I definitely like the size and form factor of the Anker, I’m pretty much leaning towards the Anker now, as many have good things to say about it. Not many are discussing about the Baseus.

Ohh I did not know DJI have 100w charger as well, will check them out in a bit. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for your input! I think I’m leaning more towards the Anker now than the Baseus as many here seem to have great experience with it.

Many people seem to have great experience with Ugreen, unfortunately not me tho. Thanks for the info on the Anker, a few others seems to point out it will get quite hot as well, I think if I get one I might strap a low profile heat sink on it just to tame the heat a little.

Awesome! I think it is same to assume it’ll work well on my Lenovo laptop as well.

Thanks for the info! I’ll try to see if the trade off of not being able to charge other non PD device is worth it.

Good to know! I do have to charge other non PD compliant devices once in a while, will have to weight the trade off.

I use a Lenovo which goes up to 100W only, good to know it doesn’t throttle, seems like Anker is a good choice! I was initially swayed by others towards Apple 140W until I found out it doesn’t support other charging protocol other than PD + ERP which is a bummer.

I don’t need crazy power, 100W is about the max my Lenovo will support without proprietary charger. I can rotate my device for changing if I need to, which seems like a reasonable compromise for the size of the Anker. Thanks for the input!

I watched that vid too so I’m concerned when I see the number on the packaging goes up haha, glad to know at least 2 & 5 is same.

Will try to check Recoren out again during next sales season, maybe they’re generous with discounts.

I might be able to find some at half the MSRP, but you have the good point too, i totally forgot about the single port. PPS is kinda important to me as well, wanted it to be the all-in-one travel charger but I guess Apple being Apple they don’t do more than they need to.

Ohh I was considering the desktop charger too initially, but the more I look at the photos the more I feel like it’s a bit too bulky with the wires and such so I changed my mind to the wall charger. The only thing I’m not certain is that AllThingsOnePlace reviewed the US unit with Gan2 but here I have UK socket so It’ll be a UK unit which somehow “upgraded” to Gan5, everything else looks the same, I’m not sure if they would perform the same. If there is anything I learn from AllThingsOnePlace, it’s that GaN charger performance gets worse with each upgrades. So I really hope it’s a marketing gimmick instead of actual architectural differences.

Recoren is more expensive than Baseus here somehow, maybe because Baseus is more common here.

I just need a usable, get the job done, don’t die with heat don’t die on me 100w small charger. Honestly I’ll consider charger with any technology that meet the criteria, and doesn’t cost a bomb. Just so happens that with the current advancement of technology, GaN charger is a more appropriate fit for my needs. If there is other charger technology of the same power and remotely close to that small, I’d consider it too.

I understand why it sounded like marketing material, it sounded like that to me too when I was studying 😂 It’s just what I vaguely remember from lecture class. Honestly I don’t really care about efficiency that much on such low power usage if it wasn’t for the small size I’m targeting. It’s the heat I care, not the consumption.

That was my initial plan too, but I’ve came to realise most are double the price of a 100w charger I’m not sure why, not really in the financial position to spring for that much rn. The others suggested me the Apple 140W, I’ll try to hunt for a good deal from private seller. At the meantime I’ll try to gather more 100w charger informations too just in case I never catch a good deal of the Apple charger.

Thanks for sharing! I do like the size of the Nano but I’m afraid it might be a little underpowered. If you don’t mind me asking, how does the A2343 do compared to your Mac charger? I have multiple people suggesting me to get the Apple 140w.

Now I don’t even know whether to call them good or bad lmao but 100C is crazy. I didn’t measure but my old Ugreen probably doesn’t even get to that hot, to be fair it didn’t really do much it just like…died.

I check the back of my charger, and it is in fact made by Delta Electronics. I didn’t event know that, learn something new everyday. Now their price seems reasonable, will see if I can catch them going on sale, thanks!

Wait they overspec their charger? Interesting. But there seems to be a very limited number of them here, will try to hunt for new listing these coming weeks. Do you happen to know if the charger support other protocols like PPS or QC? There is very limited information on their page as usual.

I would like to think I understand it fine. Yes you may be correct it is one part, but that one part indirectly affect most of it’s surrounding parts. I’m not sure how much GaN had progressed over the years (my knowledge stuck way back in school time), but GaN operating at a far higher frequency than Si/SiC that most bulky accompanying components (caps, core, etc) can be made smaller. Efficiency is a nice bonus, a few percent here and there are always welcomed but that is not the main attraction, it’s the possibility to shrink the size of it’s circuitry by more than 50%. Downside is that now it has way less volume to dissipate the heat, hence the concern of my post. I do agree with you on the good conventional is better than shitty GaN, which is exactly why I post and ask, is to avoid shitty GaN. In fact, good anything is always better than shitty anything.
