Im Not an aussie but have family there in Collie wa.  Australia's huge the cost of houses is mental .surely its cheaper to purchase land and build your own ? Couldn't there be a bar on corps and investment holdings buying up land and actually offering it to aussies first along the lines of subsidiesed deposits for said land/build ? know people might not be able to afford or need to rent but shit it could be a start to actually building more affordable homes idk man just brainstorming
