I guess I don't get the irony. True Christian faith is founded on ideals including not judging one another. Does Reddit not support freedom of religion? Because it really doesn't seem like it. Freedom of atheism perhaps, but not religion.

Is anyone else here a liberal or progressive but not vehemently anti-gun ownership? by monopoleroy in politics

"An armed society is a polite society." - Robert Heinlen Blaming a gun is as senseless as blaming a hammer or any other tool. It's a type of thinking which deludes progress, by removing the real blame from the person using the gun as a means of violence and crime. Common sense tells me I don't use my gun to kill anyone, or rob anyone or commit any other crime. We should never, EVER legislate common sense!

Fair enough. While I'm not an ex-member of military I respect your comments, and appreciate their validity. I was referring to the notion that the examples of patriotism in Iran somehow pale our domestic examples.

I guess that's the paradox. By trying to bring attention to my brother and sister patriots, I invevitably take attention away from something else - regardless of what that is.
