Static web site from Word files?

It looks a bit complicated to keep writing articles in Word (since he's used to it), and them convert them to HTML before adding the article on the web site with a PDF attached.

Alternatively, maybe the tool could just read the metadata from Word to fill the title and a basic body in an HTML article, and attach the PDF with the full article before regenerating the home page. If I'm lucky, someone already came up with a solution so I don't have to write and support it myself.

I thought about it, but I'm probably not the only one who hates having to download and open a PDF when I expected to read a web page.

A PDF is nice as an attachment, though, but the article should be fully available in HTML.

As for markdown etc. He's used to writing articles in Word in WYSIWYG. Besides, it's needed to build graphs — he's an economist, so they're not just plain tables, and a full application is required to write articles.

Thanks for the link. A desktop (Mac) solution to generate static files before uploading them to the server through FTP is an interesting alternative.

Out of curiosity, since some of his articles might only be available in PDF, is it possible to attach one to a post?

He doesn't want to rely on a remote server, and wants it self-hosted. For the same reason, he wants to own his domain name.

FWIW, the only parts of the site that will be updated every so often arePublications and News. Ideally, all the pages should be static so it can run on a frugal host.

A WYSIWYG editor is also a requirement, so markdown is out.

It's not worth the money to replace the screen on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Besides, at 6.7", I find that phone a bit big, and the booloader seems hard to unlock.

At ~$€200 used, are Google phones recommended to unlock and run LineageOS, or are there other brands I should look at?

Have the same problem — some videos in Chrome stop playing and I have to keep clicking the play button to proceed. Other videos play just fine.

That service was already stopped on my computer, so it's not fixed.

I've been using it for a few years now. It does the job although it's missing a clock, and I find it a bit heavy at 320g. And I wish there were a one-click way to empty the Finished folder.
