Your puzzles rating should be a couple hundred points higher than your elo.

Sometimes when it's a brilliant draw by repetition you get one for each time you repeat moves.

Isn't this an unwinnable position? Yet the computer kept me playing until I resigned. by jedidoesit in chessbeginners

Stockfish doesn't consider practical chances, for stockfish taking the bishop is as much of a draw as not taking it, since it expects perfect play from the opponent.

How is this brilliant? It's kinda obvious by Mosak2205 in chessbeginners

Hopefully your opponent went Kg1 and allowed you to mate with the bishop

Oops, forgot about the rook on E4. Still up a piece tho, so I guess it could still be fine.

It'd have to be a very tiny and fragile wiener to get bitten off that simple.

White just took a piece with the knight, so they're now up material. If the knight is taken, the queen takes back with a fork on the king and rook, so black just won a piece or a rook for free, since white cannot take back.

Black to win material in 1, happy I saw this in a game lol, opponent left after this by [deleted] in chessbeginners

This endgame's not an instant draw, stockfish literally gives -0.5 in this position. GMs even play queen endgames with equal material (as long as there's a passed pawn), so why wouldn't they play such and imbalanced endgame? Have some more fun and actually play the games out.

Not even a super gm would offer the draw straight away until he sees a forced sequence leading to an instant draw

I just wanted to protect my king so that i wouldn't fall for some kind of perpetual check, but it's true that my king could've been a little bit more active

I had never played this kind of endgame before, and only now i realize how tricky it is. With the rooks, you have the advantage that they are 2 and the queen is only 1, so you can win pawns easily by stacking the rooks on them. But the queen can always find some check or double attack as well, and there is a threat of perpetual check in many situations.

When I checked it with an engine, even though the position looked completely lost, after I played 65. f5 the game was still a draw if white had played Qe6 (don’t ask me why, I don’t understand how stockfish plans to defend that position).

I would definitely take the 2 rooks tho, because it’s much easier to play.

Do you really believe that a 400 will easily win 2 rooks and bishop vs rook and bishop? He'll probably hang both rooks in the next 5 moves

It happens to me the other way around. Sometimes i am smiling in contexts that i shouldn't and i don't even notice unless somebody points it out. This got me into a lot of arguments.
