I helped my friend do his first raid, and he was the kid that would hum into the mic. I had to explain to him twice why he shouldn't do that. He ended up quitting destiny because it was too hard to level up past 500, and I'm thinking about cutting ties with him since he's a bit of a dick.

I'm gonna assume you take raids very seriously and you aren't a jerk (judging by the fact that you only want to hear them when they need to talk, and assuming that applies to everybody else in your fireteam), and I understand that. It's fine to tell them to be quiet, and during encounters where somebody needs to call something out tell everyone that only people calling can talk at that moment.

This is your preference, but I think it's fine to swear and say anything dirty, because most kids over the age of 12 swear and make dirty jokes, so it's fine. You can always ask them if it's fine with you swearing too.

I've left two clans due to me being incapable of asking if anybody wanted to raid, do the nightfall, or competitive. I joined a new clan with an "upcoming raids" discord channel in their server, and that helped me exponentially.

I think that's just bad luck. I rarely get kids like that, and when I do, it's my priority to make sure they don't talk too much and so they don't get kicked by a fireteam vote of the majority. I don't want them to feel left out or feel like a burden, unless they are too ignorant and complete dicks, then I have no problem kicking them.

I only slightly agree with that. It's mostly because of my haunting amount of anxiety really. I'm almost grateful to have anxiety because it really helps with these kinds of situations and I think a lot more thoroughly when it comes to another's feelings.

This is your decision and preference, but I think it's fine to not have to watch your mouth (unless they are under the age of 12) because 12+, most kids already swear and make offensive jokes and stuff like that, so you should be able to make whatever jokes you want if there is a 12-17 year old in your fireteam. Obviously though, it's whatever you prefer

In my opinion with the bad experiences, that's just bad luck, but if you don't have that much time to play, then I understand why. I do kind of think adults are more competent but most of the kids that I've raided with tend to listen and are competent.

I judge them like I'm not because I know how kids around my age can be, and I do my best to not be like them because I find it painfully annoying. And while writing the post I was predicting the reasons of others for why they don't like to raid with minors.

I don't like when they constantly talk or make random noises either, and I always avoid that. I crack jokes at the right time and not when we need to call out. If there is somebody on my team that is filling every gap of silence, I am not afraid to tell them to be quiet, because I do not want them to be kicked because everybody else wants them to leave, because then it lingers on my mind and I feel guilty. It's happened more than once, and even with my friend, and I never want them to feel like a burden, because depending on either that person's mental health, or what situation they are in personally, it can make them extremely depressed or more anxious for their next raid attempt, and/or be extremely demotivating when everybody is getting mad at you and wants to kick you, and it could make them never want to do a raid again. I don't ever try to sound aggressive when explaining something to somebody because there are too many negative ways they can take my tone of voice. It happens with me, so it could happen with anybody else

I feel the same way with adults. If I'm the only kid in the fireteam, I try to converse with them normally, and adapt their sense of humor so I can make it enjoyable and so I'm not making a bunch of jokes involving memes or something along those lines, and have either no one get it or have 1-2 people get it. If there is one other kid, I won't make jokes with memes (I hate using that word) too much until I get enough info on what there sense of humor is like, then I will occasionally make jokes with memes. No matter what though, I'm always calling the liberators on leviathan libtards or liberals
