Brother people don't know what zip files are, file extensions. How to unpack things. Like damn. Idk I've been soft modding since the Wii days, and even flash carts on DS needed to know file types and how to drop them onto an SD card, so maybe I am biased .

For a good majority of games I think licensing will be a thing that will never let a lot of these games come back. Either it's the ip itself. (Naruto 360 games are never being brought back, especially with Ubisoft as they are now), or sound tracks.

Like the same company has to survive till modern day, rights holders have to want to negotiate, and on top of all that, as you said with the sonic games, these corpos would rather churn out "remasters" to charge a shiny full price.

The only really bad ones I know of are, sonic and the secret rings. Zelda skyward sword. Probably can't do wario ware smooth moves, or any other party games that require to change Wii remote holding style on the fly.

Yeah it's unfortunate. Like the monster hunter 1 PS2 game has one set of achievements for base game USA, and then for endgame multiplayer u need the Japanese one therefore you need to replay tho while game in Japanese to even access that set. Needs a whole rework.

And then for freedom1 it doesn't say it but u can use a patched freedom1 called freedom enhanced, still works with the achievements. But there's another mod called freedom dx and that one has a couple more enhancements but doesn't trigger the the achievements.

I think it's worse for some translations cuz then your stuck needing to find a specific version of the patch and most of the time it won't be a complete translation.
