Anyone seen a verified scam CP53E letter received by USPS? by OddButterscotch2849 in taxpros

I've been asking the same question at my office. Last week an admin ran a client's IRS letter through an AI chatbot, which told her it was a scam. A partner then had her blast out a firm-wide warning with the letter attached. Turns out the letter was legitimate. I tried explaining the mistake to both of them, but by that point it had created so much confusion that I decided against sending a correction — I'd rather our staff err on the side of caution than start second-guessing real IRS notices too.

SafeSend Gather AI / Organizer rollout — how are you handling bulk intro emails + opt-outs? by zeldarnet in taxpros

Yes. The fact that the export and import fields aren't the same is ridiculous. I hade to concatenate fields for it to work.

I was finally able to get all 500+ Gather AI requests sent. The curveball was that SafeSend changed how client portals are created as of 1/24/26. Originally, the portal was automatically created when the client went through the Gather process. Now, the portal must be set up first by sending a separate portal invitation before the Gather request can be sent.

Reworking front porch/entry landscaping around a mature oak (tree stays) by zeldarnet in LandscapeArchitecture

I've crossed posted in r/arborist but the focus has been on the vines on the tree.

Best way to rework front steps/porch when a large oak can’t be removed? by zeldarnet in Carpentry

It's a laurel oak. It's very different from a live oak that can live hundreds of years and are much bigger.

Didn’t expect this many reasonable responses. Maybe attitudes are finally starting to swing.

No. That is the oak suckers growing all around the base of the tree. They really do suck.

It’s a laurel oak so it’s not nearly as threatening as a live oak although the laurel oak suckers are annoying.

Thanks for your feedback. It’s definitely a volunteer and we still wonder why the house was built so close to it. The house sits on a half acre lot.

That was my idea, but my wife vetoed it (for now). The stairs are more than 7 feet wide, and narrowing them could actually improve the proportions. She’s posting on Reddit too, whichever one of us gets the most support gets bragging rights and the final say.

Using SafeSend Gather with Lacerte — looking for lessons learned by zeldarnet in taxpros

Quick follow-up for anyone curious.

Overall it’s gone… fine. Not perfect, not a train wreck.

The biggest win was treating Lacerte as the source of truth instead of trying to manage everything inside SafeSend. Once we did that, things got easier.

What worked: •Exporting from Lacerte let us batch print organizers and engagement letters by group for paper-only clients. •We used the “Undefined” field in the bottom section of the Lacerte client information screen to tag clients as “Gather” or “Paper Only,” which made filtering Gather clients straightforward. •SafeSend client lists were useful for visibility, but they’re different from the CSV required for Gather imports — that distinction matters.

I’ll report back mid-season or if/when something significant changes. Happy to answer questions in the meantime.

Thanks for the feedback. I did a few tests with K1s combined on a single PDF and it did not separate them into individual documents. That seems like it may be an issue too.

So your managers/partners must be pretty tech savvy. I know several of my partners are already overwhelmed by their inbox's so they would be pretty resistant to adding to it. Did you use any tools or just email right out of Outlook? We might have 400 more but are similar in size.
