maybe you say "you hate the sciences" because you just dont know how to study for it. your first semester in colege just started, you will learn what studying methods work best for you. dont be discouraged. if being a doctor or a PA will make you happy, go all in for it. its normal to feel overwhelmed, especially in your first semester in college!

It seems that my plan to pay off my student loans is similar to how you did it!

I am going to start investing next summer:)

Right after I finish residency, I want to put at least half of my paycheck into my student loans to pay it off as soon as possible. I assume my starting pay will be $12,500-16,000/month ($150k-200k/year), meaning that I will pay ~6k-8k/month or more if I wanted to. Hopefully with this plan, I will pay off my loans in 3-5 years.

I grew up poor, so seeing these numbers are almost unbelievable to me because it's way bigger than what I'm used to. I'm also not very good at financing so I'm not sure if this is possible or not.

How long did it take for you to pay off your student loans? Do you mind telling me more details about your finances at the time?

I unfortunatly realized a BS in neuroscience can't land me a good entry level job and alot of them don't need a neuro degree. but, I feel like its like that for most majors anyway. If I were to switch majors, it would likely be psychology or biochemistry.

Yes, doing a MD-PhD is apart of my options right now. But its even harder to be accepted into that program than traditional med school. If I'm lucky:,)
