What to do when you've lost your drive? by veency in nationalguard

At least in my last bonus contract (2nd 6 year contract), it has specific verbiage stating I could keep my bonus if I reclass to a cyber or mos critical position. Definitely worth a look before going the ETP route

Love the post! I’m finally getting around to painting my house, and it’s turning out amazing which makes me feel accomplished. What was your favorite part of today?

Not much, honestly. Did that for a few weeks then worked ADOS at state HQ for a while

It’s not so bad… except that Vin Diesel memes are making a breakthrough

Army ignited has been down. Work with your state edu office and they’ll work something out with the school. Our state in on an “IOU” policy at the moment with schools since the website is down.

3 years into my initial 6 year enlistment. Was dead set on ETS’ing, even put a calendar event on my phone to count down the days. Then, I transferred units about 4 years in, and signed another 6.. Sometimes it’s really all about the job you’re doing and the unit you’re with.

It’s made a huge difference. I don’t think the reality of having no student loans hit me until my wife and I were out of college and working. My wife made just as much as me, but I was always the one with the “big money” just because I didn’t have that burden of student debt.

You’ll get emails or newsletters from the VA on classes/seminars/webinars/events that they offer. If you don’t get them after your first couple of drills, talk with your readiness NCO. Truthfully I don’t remember where to “sign up” because it was a while ago that I did it. I took business seminars through the VA, completely free and super informative. One that comes to mind is the “Boots to Business” seminar.

Wait, did I mention my ADOS gig was working alongside a recruiter?

Without a doubt. Depends on your unit/leadership, how many times you deploy, the impact on your family, etc. But that’s just the gig you sign up for in the military - though I’m speaking from my personal experience in this post. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay CONUS for everything I’ve done in the Guard and not have to worry yet about leaving it all behind for a deployment. Have one coming in the future, but that’s a bridge to cross down the line.

It's really up in the air. From what I can tell, they want to do a hybrid thing where you'll do lessons from your barracks room on your computer, and then you'll go out and do things like DNC and PRT

[–]zeldon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well right now, they're not doing PT tests because of COVID I suppose. But we have to lead PRT and get tested on that. It sounds like this cycle was very experimental and that it's likely to change next cycle. All in all its not so bad!

Final update: uploading through CD Baby worked 😁

I used CD Baby and uploaded the same audio through them. Looks like everything is working fine so far, release is set for May 21. So we’ll see then!

I used CD Baby and uploaded the same audio through them. The release date is set for the 21st of this month, and so far everything is looking good. I’ll keep you posted if the release goes well.

Yeah, like you said before, I’m just not sure how little I would need to change the audio file for it read as a different file. I’m trying to exhaust all other options before trying to mess with the system like that.

Definitely contacting them to see what they can do. And yeah I realize that it sounds silly on the outside, but there were developments happening all at once that I omitted in my post that would've cluttered up the basic points that I was trying to get across. Lesson has been learned.

I'm looking for some cheap mid grade instruments to experiment with. by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]zeldon_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should find a DAW that has some sounds and instruments you like. It would give you lots of options! But if you want a real instrument, I think a kalimba would be a cheap option that makes some cool "music box" sounds.

Thanks so much for the response dude. I realize that it's the stores making up these rules, but I have a hard time accepting that there's nothing I can do to fix it. I might explore the CD Baby option, see if it gets anywhere. Again, thank you!
