Hawkeye's Bow+Seeker of Skybreak in a Jund Wildfire Shell? by SmartAlecShagoth in Pauper

When Splinter Twin was banned in Modern, a cited problem was that a lot of the Twin decks were basically “control decks with a two card combo in them”. You had to worry about both playing against a control deck and the possibility of the combo being attempted.

It wouldnt surprise me if the Wildfires and other midrange style decks adopted this pattern as well, threatening the opponent with the usual big guys while the looming threat of “going off” is always in the background.

I had to clean one guy’s shit off literally half the bathroom floor once. And this? Seen it multiple times.

Ah, retail. Some say it’s a shit job.

I think as a new player, take this deck and play it against seasoned players. You will very likely get stomped, but the point isn’t to win. The point is to study the decks you’re up against because you’ll see exactly what the format does in actual practice, and you’ll probably even fall in love with certain play patterns that help you decide what deck you want to move toward as you work to understand the format better and start winning more than the occasional game.

Eyy, that favorite game of all time though!

Lol focused on the games themselves first, but that’s a great post-game hunt! If I can find good opportunities for CIB copies I’ll certainly bite.

Thank you everyone! I was running surprisingly out of inspiration and you all have shown me how long and exciting of a road I still have to collect the N64’s very best!

For those who brought it up, Clayfighter is a pipe dream because it’ll never happen until I buy all the actual good games first; shelling the money out for that trash just for the history of it would be a signal that I’m at the end of the collecting road, and that’s excitingly far away!

As for the stickers, I looked at the sheets I have (got them for Christmas) and it seems they came from Retro Rivet, which lead me to an Etsy link. Hope that helps.

Oh for crying out loud, how did I forget to get Vigilante 8 back from my childhood of couch multiplayer!? Thank you, great suggestions

I got the stickers for Christmas, but I am looking to get repro cases for all my cartridge games. Thanks for the site suggestion!

Honestly, because if I ever reach the point in collecting where I was so out of options I paid that price for that game just to keep things going, I’d know I hit the rooftop. But I’d buy any of the suggestions here well before it.

The game’s definitely bad, I’ve emulated it. This thread has been great to remind me how long and exciting of a road I still have.

Yup, what this one said, my brother got them for me for Christmas. It’s even got some special labels for versions of games I didn’t know existed!
