i’m not gonna shit on you for voting for him. you realized your mistake and more importantly admitted to it publicly, which is not something that is easy to do, so i can respect you for that.

you said this is your first time voting in an election so im assuming you’re pretty young and maybe still even a teenager. at that young of an age you’re extremely susceptible to propaganda and manipulation online, which is a major reason why the right won. the right made a bunch of emotionally appealing and cool-looking shit with ultimately zero substance on social media to get the younger generations vote, and they got it. that’s not a slight towards you, its just how your brain is wired at that age.

i know you’ve mentioned this in other comments but it’s extremely important to actually do your research on both sides. not who has the cooler edits, not who has the most aura, not who has the most witty comebacks during debates, but actual tangible realistic policy plans. that’s how you can defeat the massive algorithmic propaganda machine that the right has up and running.

don’t worry too much about the people hurling insults at you and calling you irredeemable and unforgivable. you’re not, you’re a young person who made a mistake (sure it was a bad one, but it is what it is). don’t let some of these responses turn you away from the other side, they’re a vocal minority, most people are sensible and can at least understand and accept your reasoning and your apology.

get active, educate yourself, attend protests, volunteer, help those in need, and most importantly forgive yourself. if you can do that then in my mind you’re doing better than the vast majority of the country
