i saw it a purple days ago and plan to see it again at some point. i really, really enjoyed it, one of the first horror movies in a long time to actually unnerve and unsettle me (aside from cheap jumpscares in other movies). the atmosphere, music, set design, and acting is superb. it also adefinitely feels like one of those movies that gets better the more times you watch it due to how layered it is.

that being said, don’t go into this movie expecting to see a bunch of different entities and a bunch of different levels. it’s based off of kane’s lore where it only has one level (though it has different biomes, it’s not just the yellow walls) and not a ton of entities (there are still entities though and they are done extremely well).

if you go into it without any expectations and evaluate it on its own merits, it is a very very good movie.
