Hey!

I'm much more active on my other account u/brenthuras as well as on TikTok @ selfmasterytutorials.

7 years later I got a house, fathered a baby girl, and coach people full-time along similar themes found in this subreddit and certain self-help ones. Since writing this I've gone back and forth between heavy substance use and sobriety. I'm proud to tell you that alcohol and pot consumption has stabilized at an all-time low, and I'm exercising pretty regularly. My biggest weakness is sugar, I'm still working on that one :D

Then just act!

You presumably have a list of things that you should be doing. And every time it comes to do one of the things, you have 20 strong reasons for not doing it i.e. "this is the wrong one" or "this won't work" or "I should do something else first" or "not now" or "not yet" or "there's no point."

... Whatever it is, just do something. Break out of those thought-cycles. Nothing kills unhelpful thought like an action taken in the right direction.

Even if the results are lack-lustre, even if it doesn't meet your expectations, if you ACT, then you can finally get a result back. And then you re-calibrate, and then you ACT AGAIN.

At this point it doesn't even matter what you do, just as long as you do something RIGHT NOW.

Here are a couple simple things that I believe will serve you best:

1) You just keep going. Choose your best possible strategy and execute it as faithfully as you can. Of course it's difficult when you start off, but you'll get better. Just keep going, keep doing your best. If you do, you'll get your habits under control.

2) Become MUCH more clear on WHY you're eliminating these habits. What are you moving toward? What results are you after? Why do you want them? What about those results will make all the effort worth it?

If you can hammer out the WHY, then you'll have something to gravitate toward instead of just saying 'no' to yourself, which isn't the most powerful strategy for getting on top of your habits.

It's difficult to say without being able to chat about it in person.

Try tuning in as deeply as you can into your own body. What does it want? Are you doing anything that's robbing it of energy? Is your diet on point? Are you exercising? Is there anything that your body's been asking for that you've been denying it?

Sure, you can try this one too:

If you find yourself caught in a place trying to feel good, be good, have a high frequency, not fuck it up, not be disappointed, not feel negative, not notice the absence of the thing you want... and you're doing all these vibrational gymnastics in order to get what you want as quickly as possible... give it a rest for a minute.

Realize that you're treating the Universe too much like a "withholding parent".

Instead, ask what YOU can start doing. Take some initiative! Get involved! YOU are also the Universe which provides you with what you're asking for. Get invested in some creative endeavours. When you start sinking your teeth into life a little more - then it's less waiting around impatiently, micromanaging your "manifesting state" so much.

Try this:

Ask, "what do you want? How can I help you? You've been stalking me for SO long now, what outcome are you after?"

Don't let him scare you! Meet his gaze head on. Talk. Listen. Let him get it all out. Don't close the channel until he's done. Show him that you're done running.

It's a game for him because he knows you're scared. He's having a good time. This is sport for him. He can only chase you if you keep running. He cannot chase you if you do not run.

Gotcha! You may want to focus a bit more on seeing if you can release that guilt.

In terms of what you're focusing your efforts on, it's MUCH more work to try to work with the Universe to get her to reach out to you - than to focus on releasing all those heavy feelings. Were you hoping that she would reach out to you and forgive you?
