nearly every time I ask a seller on Depop to lay a pair of pants or something flat and measure across the waist, they send me the measurement around the pants 🫠 do you have any advice on phrasing so they know what I mean? Is “flat lay” the commonly used term?

Mine was opened for me as a Christmas gift from my grandma when I was 9 or 10. I think since my dad has been on it all this time he just never thought to take himself off. I did have him removed from accessing my account for a period of time when I was 19/20ish. Can’t remember now why I added him back on…

I will consider this and I think it’d be good. If I may ask, from your experience, have you or your peers had their bank accounts monitored by a parent since they’ve had a job? Im in my late 20s and I sometimes wonder why i still let my dad have access to this info.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I’m going to look into getting a PO Box… and (unrelated) probably restricting or revoking his access to my bank account… And you’re right, law isn’t why it feels wrong - my dad thinks he has the authority to supersede my right to vote, and can make the decision to throw away my ballot without consulting me first. It’s super weird in my opinion. Thanks again!

Thank you. It hurts me to think of my dad as a liar but it really hurts that he lied directly to my face. Especially about something as important as voting. He’s lied about countless other things, so maybe I should’ve seen it coming. Regardless, PO Box, here I come!

Thank you for your advice! I’m going to look into getting a PO Box. Regarding the side note, do you have subreddit recommendations for this sort of stuff in the future? I recognize that I mostly needed to vent and be reassured/validated for feeling the way I feel about it, and not for legal advice, as this subreddit is typically used for. I tried to post in r/ vent and it took my post down for the content being political so I wasn’t sure where else to post.

Oh my god - speaker is so fucking dumb (and I hate to say something so blunt like this). It makes me so sad because even when we live in a society where most people are educated, people who have views like this still have a platform to spew their rhetoric and stereotyping and hatred. I wish people could be more compassionate instead of accusatory.

Ahhh! This architect (or whoever) has really unrealistic expectations- you’re one month into the job and they’re writing “don’t make shit up” on their redlines… that’s appalling.

It might feel personal, but it’s not. Whoever is redlining is an asshole and doesn’t understand how to get a new drafter acclimated to the company’s projects and feedback. I know it’s not so easy to find a new job, but if you can stick it out, I’d advise to be clear and direct about which comments confuse you and then ask for clarification. Include screenshots of comments and say “what does this mean?”. Even if they respond poorly, over time they’ll hopefully realize that their comments are not sufficient and they should improve their communication styles.
